Yeah you right, I know how most guys are  How much $ do one of those go for?? Will I need to have that registered?? We will plant the seeds of wisdom early so she will know better.

Thanks for all the nice compliments and comments yall. I sure do appreciate that. I had kept this on the down-low until now (except one "personal messge" on UP) It's kinda crazy this is really happening. I'll do my best to keep yall posted :good:

A chopper goes for at least $100 depending on where you get it. You can legally own an AK but with tight regulations. Louisiana doesn't have any laws on the books outlawing ownership of an AK. Or you can go to the hood and get one of the streets illegally, but if I were you I'd go the legal route.

My baby-girl Kaylee(1st child) was born yesterday at 12:18p.m. At 7 lbs. 1.1 oz's. I know what they mean now when they say "little miracle"! We should be leaving the hospital on tommorrow.

CONGRATULATIONS, RICHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :yahoo::yahoo: I'll bet you're scared to death now that you're a daddy... but in a good way I'm sure.

Thanks very much again to all of yall. I truly do appreciate all the kind words. What a blessing it truly is!!! We have lots of good help from the new grandparents/family and friends.

No plans yet Dan, too early to say??? One and done?? Maybe. When I met my wife she did not want kids, and really neither did I. It didn't matter either way. But things do change.

I'm sure more kids will just be a "wait and see" thing for you guys, Richy. Of course I'm not married and I don't have kids, but it does seem that many people immediately want to have more kids after they start raising the first one, or they immediately decide that one is enough.

Again, good luck to you guys, and congratulations!

How has your wife been handling this? Can't even begin to imagine how mentally and physically draining childbirth and the events that follow are for the man, much less the woman! :w00t:

Well Nate, I got a new respect for what women have to go thru seeing it happen firsthand. I now know what mean by the word "Labor". She's a champ in my book. It's an amazing process. This really is all still sinking in. The fact we had to be at the hospital at 3:00a.m. didn't make things any easier. It has been draining for me but nothing compared to her, but it's well worth it. Thanks for asking.

Crazy how the baby recognizes my voice and stops crying now simply because I talked to her while in my wife's tummy in the last months. Powerful stuff :good:

Richy Here's a list of things I can share to help you out as a new poppa. You know I've been there/done that.

1. Go to the drug store and stock up on a product called mylicon. This is the greatest thing to help babies relieve themselves with gas bubbles in their tummy. I used to put a couple of drops in the baby's bottle and they would burp real quick. Get one for the house, one for granny's house, the diaper bag, etc.

2. Go to the dr's office with the baby as much as possible. As a matter of fact take her to the doctor by yourself sometimes. The staff will give you special attention and will jump when you say how high. They really like seeing both parents involved in the care of the baby.

3. When the baby is asleep, make sure your wife is getting her rest as well. Women tend to try and be superwoman in the weeks after birth. They think the world will come apart if they don't wash dishes, cook, wash clothes, etc. You are a grown man, you can help with these task around the house. She will appreciate it. You know it because you'll have a great fathers day gift.

4. Finally don't forget mothers day is next weekend. :D

I'm glad I'm a boy. Being a girl is hard stuff. They must by why they make more stuff for them. I think when I grow up I'll only have one child. I tend to form preferences easily and a preference between two children is not one I'd like to do. But I can tell you from an only child point of view what it will be like. Up until about 10 she will probably want a brother or sister. But then once she's at that growth period she'll forget it completely. Of course, be careful, only children have sneaky ways. Not that I'd know anything about that :dontknow:. :D

If anyone is going to be home on May 22nd, or 23rd, make sure to watch Live with Regis and Kelly, which will be broadcasting live from Fulton Street, next to Harrah's Casino, in New Orleans. The live broadcasts will begin at 8:00a.m. each morning, with a taped broadcast being recorded later at 10:30.

LSU's Mike the Tiger died early Friday Morning :(

http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/7573772.html

I am happy he got to spend his latter years in a much, much nicer habitat that was recently built for him; than the old small cage with no grass he spent most of his sad years. Maybe this is why the Mike's have not lived the average 21-years that live in the wild??? :dunno:

Here were a couple of pics I took of Mike last November especially for UP. He was much happier in his new habitat, you could see it on his face. We are going to miss him; he was the mascot for 17 years.

I agree guys, it was extremely nice to see the new habitat for Mike built. One of the most depressing sights I've ever seen in my life was him just laying there in his original cage. No grass, no trees, no room to do anything but lay around. It's sad that he spend most of his life in that cage, but I was very happy to see him get to enjoy his new habitat for awhile. :)

Regis & Kelly hope to shine positive light on N.O.

Article from the Times-Picayune

The good and the bad of post-Katrina New Orleans -- but mostly the good -- will be on display when Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa bring their nationally syndicated morning show here for four telecasts next week.

"New Orleans has a special place in our hearts," "Live With Regis & Kelly Ripa" executive producer Michael Gelman said. "We all felt for the city when the whole Katrina disaster happened.

Baton Rouge vs. N.O.

Tensions are high in the Gardere area. Family members of Darryl Stovall, an accused killer, say they are on edge. Some in the Gardere area say it is a turf war between New Orleans evacuees and Baton Rouge natives. Around the area it's known as 504 versus 225.

<_< richyb mentioned something about this in an earlier post but it caught my eye. Real Talk, I can't get down with the 504/225 battle. I represent New Orleans but @ the same time I'm not going to disrespect another city, let alone go into another city trying to run folk out of their own neighborhoods.

Yeah Uptown, it's ashame and really sad. The 504/225 thing is very silly. We all bleed "red" + there is enough war going on in the world today. We all need to stick together and get along; it has been said "war starts within a man's heart". This ruthless behavior of hate and revenge settled with bullets sucks! 17 and 19 year olds lives ended much too young.

Unfortunately I could contribute to this La. Crime thread just about everyday around here. <_< And it has nothing to do with the 504/225 thing. The other day as sick crazed druggy Mom strangled her two 6 year old twin boys up in NBR with a phone cord. Then she tried to kill herself, but did not suceed. Now she's sorry! Too late for that!

In Glen Oaks Monday a dude was found by his wife shot dead at his bedroom door inside his house.

There are a few more, but don't have enough time.
