Louisiana | Photo of the Day

Well, guys, I headed out early in the evening to get my spot for the fireworks show. A couple of storms rolled right past us as we waited, but they missed us... barely.

I think I did okay, for being my first time taking fireworks photos with my new camera. The tripod was a little crooked, because I had a hard time leveling it on the overpass. The overpass was sloping in 2 different directions, so it was very difficult to work around. In the first two photos, I was holding the camera in my hands. In every one after that, it was on the tripod.

And then there was the "grand finale."

Those first two daytime pics are extremly straight. Great job ! All very nice pics. Very good timing too. I like the city lights and the reflection of the river adding to those great fireworks ! I really like that hotel(Horsehoe?) on the left too !

Thanks, Richy. :) Once the tripod was set up, the angle got off on my photos. The first two were when I was holding it in my hands, and for some reason I was able to keep it perfectly straight while holding it. I still wonder how much better my photos may have turned out with my other lens.

^That goes for Rod as well (sorry, Rod, I didn't see your post at first!) :D

Nice shots Brian. Now I just have to get you to start taking larger photos. It's always better to start off big then make them smaller if you need to. :D

Rod, that's what I did. I took large photos... at the largest setting... and resized them to upload onto Flickr.
