This past Saturday, Brandon Barber was arrested for a DWI. He was driving his vehicle and his Land Rover struck some mailboxes before slamming into a telephone pole.

Yeah, I saw that in the Morning news this morning. He really can't afford any bad publicity right now.

Fayetteville residents who are opposing The Barber Group

I imagine Fayetteville residents are pretty well aware of where all these developments already are. But for the rest of our forumers I thought I'd make a makeshift map of the developments near Dickson St.

I took some shots of the Divinity site today. They had the Barber Group signs up and there was some materials for construction there. I think they are for the Legacy Building though.

There was some activity by the site today. A couple of guys were using some construction equipment to move some steel. I'm not sure if they were moving it to the Legacy or what.

I doubt anything exciting will happen at this site until some of the other Barber developments are nearing completion. Those guys are stratched pretty thin as it is.

I remember them saying that construction work would begin January '07, once all the plans and designs have been finalized.

It looks like developers are starting to get worried about the project. According to an article in the times, Barber is stated as saying that if the lawsuit isn't settled within a reasonable amount of time, then the Barber Group may decide to put another kind of development on the site. I hope it doesn't come to this, but I don't see this lawsuit being cleared up in a few months.

Several of Barber's projects have been put on hold/downsized. Rumor has it that a major investor in his company may be backing out soon.

I still have mixed feelings about this whole development. I hate that they had to go through so much to get approval, but I'm still not crazy about the design.
