Pinnacle Hills Promenade

Anything above Walmart is upscale for me. I make good money, but I am the ultimate cheap skate. The screen of my laptop broke today and I could easily purchase a new one, but here I am looking on ebay deciding wether to get a used one for less than half what it cost new, or just getting the screen and changing it out. I gaurantee you if duct tape could fix it, I would get some duct tape 1/2 price off ebay and fix it myself! :P

I agree that these aren't exactly what would be considered "upscale" stores for New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, London. They are pretty much upscale for Northwest Arkansas. I consider any store that is more expensive than Dillards, JC Penney, Sears to be upscale, of course that's coming from a cheapskate who only makes $30K a year for a family of 3 and has to pinch pennies just to take my son to the circus. For me a Fossil watch is what a Rolex is to you. But I'm actually more happy with my $15 watch from Wal-Mart, even though I own 2 Fossils that my wife gave me as gifts. Bottom line is that I live within my means, but I'll always be a cheapskate even if I made $100K a year. I've always considered myself a bit of a socialist when it comes to material things. I don't feel right about owning expensive clothes or "toys" when there are so many people in this great nation of ours that can't afford food and settle for wearing second hand clothes. I don't say that because I think you or other "well off" people are "uppity" and even my wife occasionally misses being able to afford all the nice things she had from her previous marriage, but I'm just happy to have a roof over my head and a warm meal 3 times a day. My son loves all his cheap toys and has nice clothes to wear. What more can someone ask for.

Mason's dad...I total agree with you about living between your means. I am a recent college grad who is trying to pay back my school loans, while making ends meet. I am just simply saying that there was a TON of hype about the place being "upscale" and I wouldn't consider it upscale. I guess when I think of upscale I think of the Galleria in Dallas or something along those lines.

True that there may be a little hype going on in NWA... I've been using that "hype" word on this forum more often lately. I do recall a time when even the Dallas Galleria had a "Everything's A Dollar" store that sold everything for a dollar. It was one of my favorite Galleria stores. :D

Besides, half of the stores announced for Pinnacle Promenade are also in the Dallas Galleria... just none of the high dollar stores like Rolex, Gucci, Armani Exchange, Tiffany & Co., VERSACE and Williams-Sonoma, but the Galleria does have a Fossil and a Brighton Collectibles!

I'm a bigger cheapskate than you... I lug around my old 486 pc in a used suitcase and call it a laptop! Seiously, I need to start saving now for a laptop for my son when he goes to college. He will be 2 years old this month. :D

OK, I take back what I said about P.F. Chang's. I've only eaten there once, maybe it was a single occurence, or a bad individual restaurant (Tulsa). I also freely admit I am massively biased against chain restaurants, that definitely clouds my judgement against them.

Coldwater Creek...my judgement there was based on their website, maybe I didn't dig deep enough.

I took a look at the website, and it looks as if they are trying to appeal to the bargain shopper, so I can see how you reached your conclusion. The store in Jackson Hole was impressive, at least to me. I guess I'm probably pretty cheap, like the others above - $45 for a t-shirt is upscale to me :) .

Yea, I have to agree... $45 for a T shirt isn't Sak's, but it is definitely upscale.

Wow, Haagen Dazs is great. I know that only Fayetteville has a Haagen Dazs in the entire state. Great to see this wonderful tenant coming to the promenade.

I hadn't realized Fayetteville had the only location in the state.

Mimi's Cafe is going in at the Promenade? I thought it was going somewhere else. Also, There is no such thing as Fossil and Brighton. Brighton is Brighton Collectibles and Fossil is its own store.

Oh yeah apparently KNWA will be running a special thing all this week on their 10PM newscast talking about Pinnacle Hills. Thought some of you might be interested in checking that out.

Have they been reporting anything interesting/news-worthy/earth-shattering?

I forgot to watch the first night. Although I go to work rather early in the morning so for me 10PM is a bit late. I have to go in extra early tomorrow morning so I doubt I'll try to watch it tonight. I haven't seen much mentioned in their other newscasts. So I'm guessing there's nothing earth-shattering.

Did you add Zales Jewelers as well? I believe they are going in at the Promenade as well. I am glad to see Banana Republic going in as they are definitely defined as an upscale retailer. Although we do have one in Fayetteville as well.

Another tenant Christopher and Banks added to the Promenade.

I wish I liked the name "Pinnacle Hills Promenade".

This ought to have something stronger (if it's as nice as people are telling us in the media) like "The promenade of Arkansas" or "The mall of the Ozarks" or something like that.

The PHP just doesn't do that much justice to what we're hearing about this venture, IMO.

I TiVo'd it and watched; they didn't tell us anything new. They did have some footage of the construction, but thanks to our photographers here on this board, it wasn't anthing I hadn't seen. :P

I guess I do rub off on people. It'll most likely be called "The Promenade" when all is said and done. Much the way Northwest Arkansas Mall is just "The Mall". :D
