  1. The left side of the building does look a lot nicer then the right. The left side has a more historic look while the right has the more modern look. It doesn't make sense on why they would make the building half and half though.
  2. How tall is it going to be, and what is the address for it?
  3. Damn Mcheiss your taking the fun out of everything
  4. I disagree with you that the UofA is a pretty average school...I got a degree last year from the UofA and the Walton College and I think my education was very good. I did not have any problem finding a job out of school and I had quite a few offers to choose from. Everyone I talked to thinks the UofA is a good school and to say its average is wrong. The UofA is no Harvard, Yale, Stanford or anything along those lines, but for a public university you get a damn good education.
  5. That is good news, I'm still not happy with the fact that Delta pulled the plug on the flight to Orlando.
  6. Personally I would like to see a second HS in Fayetteville. I live in Fayetteville and traffic is terrible and for a student to drive from the other side of town can take awhile. I don't think a student living in a large city like this should have to drive for 45 minutes to get to HS, so I would like to see a second one built on the east side of town...in the mission/crossover area.
  7. Tyson Avaition is based at XNA and I believe that JB Hunt is based in Springdale. I know the UofA uses Drake quite a lot and on game days, the airport is used a ton as the rich folks fly up to the games.
  8. Your right they do have private commerical flights, but how many people/companies have and are willing to pay that type of money when you can fly commerical at XNA for a few hundred.
  9. The 4 smaller airports do not compete with business with XNA. XNA is the ONLY commerical airport in NWA and if you are not using a private plane or company plane, your only opinon in NWA is XNA. The amount of operations have no impact on the airport, its just a numbe they release. Airports make their money on renting hanger spaces and selling fuel. XNA makes its money from the commerical planes, who rent space from the airport to operate from there. Drake is not an option for people wanting to fly commerical. If you want to fly commerical you can fly XNA, FT. Smith, Tulsa, Springfield, so I don't understand how people who live in Fayetteville might consider other options.
  10. Personally I think that is a bad idea. Corps use airports close to their HQ or where they are doing business to save time. Smaller airports make it easier for individuals to own and operate a plane. If someone is wanting to do business in say Springdale with Tyson, why would you want to fly to Drake or XNA. Being form Siloam Springs, we have an airport, and it really helps the smaller companies such as Allens, Simmons and Cobb.
  11. Drake has a lot of personal aircraft. If someone takes off in their little personal 2 seat aircraft that counts as an operation, say they fly around for 5 minutes and land, that is another operation. Drake has some corporate jets as well, but most of those are do to personal aircrat in and out of the airport. Isn't there some flying school there as well? Drake does not have any commerical service anymore, the only commerical service is at XNA.
  12. I think the lose of flights hurt, however, I think the growth of double digit growth at XNA is coming to a halt. With more and more suppliers moving to NWA, you are going to have fewer and fewer flying to XNA all the time, I would love to see a few more flights added, especially to Orlando and to Las Vegas. I would think a Vegas flight would do really well out of XNA.
  13. Has anyone been to XNA lately?? I know they expanded the luggage claims area, and last time I was there it was still under construction. I will at XNA in three weeks, but I didn't know if that constuction was done yet or not.
  14. Your right, I think without new flights being added the growth at XNA will not rise a lot, like it has in the past. Also when I compared the june 05 to june 06, the shareholders meeting was the first week of june in both years, so you are comparing the two.
  15. Last year XNA has nearly 600,000 enplanemnts/deplanements each. Personally I dont think we are that far away. The airport is expanding its ticket counter, and the terminal to one day get a discount airline. I don't think they would be doing this expanding if they didn't think they were pretty close, maybe in 3-5 years I hope.
