  1. You wouldn't believe the waiting list for Haas Hall. A friend of ours said her son was #127 on the list....and that's just for 7th grade...just for the Bentonville location. Each grade at each location has its long list. Our boys got in (chosen by lottery), and we are extremely thankful for the opportunity. Still trying to convince our sons that uniforms with embroidered school logos are cool
  2. Love Smashburger. With Chipotle and Pei Wei, we will have some pretty great fast/casual options .
  3. We took a group of about 30 adults and kids to the trampoline park in Little Rock in April. It's a very nice facility, well run...we felt like it was a great value for the money. Everyone had a blast. On the downside....we had more aches , pains, injuries, backs thrown out than we've ever had on any such adventure (and we've done some crazy stuff....zip lining, wild roller coasters, holding live alligators , lol)
  4. I haven't heard anything new. I am 100% sure that I read an article stating that the Arts Center would be going in that spot....but I also know that Comreguy responded and said it will likely be on the old fairgrounds property. Comreguy is rarely (ever?) wrong, so......
  5. There's dirt work going on just north of Burger King on South Walton, adjacent to the Comet Cleaners. Anyone know what's coming there?
  6. I believe I read somewhere that the Walton Arts Center is going on Central in that big field in front of Walton Jr High. They have already cleared the hundreds of Bradford Pear trees that were there. As much as I would LOVE a spiffy new HQ by the Bentonville Lowe's (it would cut hubby's commute time drastically), I can't imagine that they would be planning that since they are currently doing extensive remodels of some offices.
  7. UrbanArkie.......wishful thinking? Or , you know something?
  8. I read a news article about six months ago regarding the Arts Center. It said it was going in front of the Helen Walton center and WJHS....but plans could have changed.
  9. Too high. I'm a mom who bought season tickets to White Water in Branson last year, and was really looking forward to the opening of this park. We were thinking prices would be similar to those of the Springdale aquatic center (which were, I believe more like $6 or $8, can't remember exactly). I think we can add on White Water to our Silver Dollar City Season passes for about $30 additional. Two visits to the Rogers Park, and we'll hit $30 . Granted, the Rogers park will be much closer and more convenient, but also smaller in scale with fewer attractions. I hope the RAC offers season passes; otherwise, we won't be visiting nearly as often as I had thought we would.
  10. Thanks, KJW, nice to talk to you again too. Thanks for the info. I was hoping for a Starbucks or Panera........Dream on, right? . I will be excited if it turns out to be my physician.
  11. Does anyone know what's going up next to McDonalds in north Bentonville/south Bella Vista (next to Lowe's)? They are moving dirt and it looks to be a larger space than McDonalds occupies. That's our neck if the woods, and I'm curious.
  12. Yeah, we are bracing ourselves. It's going to be a major pain, I'm afraid. I guess we'll have torn up roads, truck traffic, and a LOT of noise. Many of our neighbors have for sale signs up. Sometimes we wonder if we should be doing the same.
  13. Thanks for the info. I saw a couple of the trucks pulled over at Miller Church, so I stopped and asked what was going on. The drivers said they were not sure what the rock will be used for, but it is coming from the Crystal Bridges Museum site.
  14. Calling itk...........([/b]or anyone else who knows, for that matter) - For the past few days, hundreds of dump trucks (literally) have been rolling down our dirt road, full of rocks. I followed one of them, and it turned off onto private land about a mile from my house. Am I to assume that right-of-ways have been obtained for the Bella Vista Bypass, and construction has begun? We live on Miller Church Road, by the way. Also, since an interchange at Punkin Hollow Road is no longer in the plans, do you know if we will at least get a paved road up to Miller Church? I would think we would, since Punkin Hollow will be an overpass (right?) What I would really like is for Miller Church Road to be paved as well, but I'm sure that's the county's responsibility, and not likely to happen any time soon.
  15. This is something I've been griping about for 16 years. I am so tired of looking at those same boxy apartments all over NWA. I remember back in 1990 when I was looking for my first job after college, I spent some time in Tulsa, and they had such a great variety (style-wise) of affordable housing. I remember one little complex called Cinnamon Stick apartments or something like that; it was so cozy and inviting. The demo appartment featured warm hues, and they had cinnamon candles burning when they showed me around (obviously geared toward young women). The place had character, and it was no more expensive than the Lindsay apartments. I do understand that Lindsay is meeting a need; I just wish they would put a little bit of effort into individualizing their complexes.
  16. THANKS Matt! I came here specifically to find this information. As I've said before, we've been told the bypass will run behind our backyard, basically, about 800 feet from our house. I had heard there was a meeting coming up, but wasn't sure when or where. I appreciate the info.
  17. Or maybe it was $4.25 a gallon, in Vegas. I forget. That was 3 hours ago, after all.
  18. Ooops! Yup, $2.68. Is it Bentonville? I thought it was on the Rogers side. Guess not. Ok, then, the Sam's club behind the Neighborhood Market on Hwy 102, how's that?
  19. The Sam's Club in Rogers is set to open on September 28th. I am so excited about this. I don't buy a lot of stuff at Sam's, but I do like to pick up a few items each month. Also, FYI, An elderly gentleman (a Sam's employee) approached me at the gas pump this morning at the Murphy USA on 102. He told me to swipe my Sam's card if I had one, for 5 cents off per gallon. I filled up at $1.68/gallon. I asked him if this was a temporary promotion for the new Sam's, and he said it was permanent. Great news if you're a Sam's club member. Not only does it beat the 3 cents off you get when you use a Wal-mart card, you don't have the inconvenience of having to remember to put money on a card.
  20. It's about time! For at least the past 15 years I've been wondering why a city of this size doesn't have a decent pool in a more convenient location. It's ridiculous. I've lived in towns 1/4 the size of Rogers that had better aquatic facilities.
