Spoke with Grant Hammond over the weekend, has a contract for the corner Gramercy unit for 1.6mm. Only unsold unit is the back corner unit in the parking lot. 

Grant also got listing for Arthur Cottages 2 weeks ago and has already sold one of the units.

The Beach Co. plans Sixth South at (516) 6th Ave. South and 512 Lea (situated between Peabody and Lea). 10-stories at the tallest part of the new building which will replace the Amerisite 6th Avenue storage building. Summer groundbreaking targeted.

From the article:  Sixth South will be positioned between Peabody Street and Lea Avenue, less than two blocks south of the Music City Center convention facility. The image shows an L-shaped building with 297 apartment units , 5,000 square feet of commercial space and a parking garage. Amenities will include a clubroom, fitness center and rooftop pool.

So this is basically the opposite corner of the Olmstead, right? That's 625 units on that block.

The lack of any retail/restaurant in these complexes downtown or in SoBro is disheartening. Should be required for each building, even if only 3-5000 sq ft. I realize this one has it but others don't.

Agreed, it'll be super fun for the residents also when they realize the closet grocery store is either the germantown or east nashville kroger.

The article states 5,000 sq ft of commercial space. Increasing the density downtown will speed the coming of necessary goods and services to that district.  Namely, grocery store(s), drug stores, etc. Also, residents will improve the feel and safety of that area. I'm generally positive here. The design isn't stellar,  but it'll do.

This building, the Olmstead, and the Lifestyle Communities developments will bring almost 1200 apartments to this area in the next couple of years. A lot of developers own neighboring parcels. I'd expect this area to develop quickly around all the new residents and hotels. Retail would make a lot of sense with all the tourists/residents in the years to come

Yes they did, IMO.  I rode by there and from inside the city-bus rounding the corner from Jo Johnston onto 18th (DB Todd), I really could appreciate just how "Swanked" out its becoming.  Good blend of contemporary with Art-Deco (of the former Pearl H.S)
