Hilton Worldwide is in talks to buy the Graduate Hotel chain, which is owned locally by AJ Capital (based in WeHo).  Their one Nashville location is 12 stories, 203 rooms at 2000 West End Ave.  They have 30 hotels in U.S. and England. Hilton is discussing acquiring the campus-focused hotel brand, but wouldn’t take any of the Graduate’s real estate.

Hilton has, indeed, purchased the Graduate Hotel brand from AJ Capital for $210 million.  All the exisiting hotels will be moved into theHilton portfolio.

“Adding Graduate Hotels to our portfolio of award-winning brands accelerates our expansion in the lifestyle space by pairing an existing much-loved brand with the power of Hilton’s strong commercial engine to drive growth,” Chris Nassetta, CEO of Hilton, said in a release. “With thousands of colleges and universities around the world, we believe the addressable market for the Graduate brand is 400-500 hotels globally.”

AJ Capital will retain ownership of Graduate’s real estate, which will be operated under long-term Hilton franchise agreements. The Graduate brand will be incorporated into Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio alongside Canopy by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, Tempo by Hilton and Motto by Hilton.
