Welcome!! Thanks for the great pictures. How is the progress on the lower floors? Also any idea when they will start cladding the Deck and finishing the exterior cladding of the building itself? (EIFS/Stucco, I believe)

Okay, getting closer on the parking covering...they've installed tabs in the concrete...I assume for mounting the covering?

I Hope that Architectural mesh and metal panelling does it job. That parking deck is horrid.

Can parking decks not have glass windows installed due to ventilation issues or do developers just never do that because of cost? Would be nice if they could just make parking decks look like the rest of the building.

The Avenue has glass panels over its. And we used to actually complain about how ugly it was.

I had no idea that is a parking deck honestly. I guess I should have known since there is an entrance there, but it never looked enough like one for me to make the connection.

So it's just developers being cheap then. No surprise.

It is ugly, but it's still way better than an exposed parking deck. To me, I would equate this with someone having a glass eye. From a distance and if you're not paying attention it looks normal, but as you closer you can tell something's off. Still, this is probably the best parking structure in the city that isn't underground, and it's easy to forget that there's a deck in there.

Based on the renderings, it's not clear to me how 'permeable' the façade of Ascent's deck will be, but I hope it's at least as solid looking as the Avenue.

I personally never minded the Avenue parking deck, it's great compared to pretty much every other above-ground deck in the rest of the city.

Speaking of Independence Day, man these units are going to have an amazing view of the fireworks display every year.  I wonder if this building will actually have any effect on the logistics of the show.  EDIT: forgot there is an entire block between this project and the outfield.

I have found that if designed properly, you can have 1st level retail on most any parking garage.  Example of one below is in Tampa's historic entertainment district  (Ybor City)

I'll take the avenue deck over that all day. I get your point though, and if the deck were a couple levels shorter where the false facade covered it fully, it would look good. BTW, I don't think there's actually any retail there. They've just put in glass storefronts to make it look like retail on the ground floor.
