I know we seen these before I found HD when the renderings and a lot closer view of the building.

Would be really cool if there was a little "flipper" thing on the back and every once in a while, it "depresses" and a flame shoots out of the top of the building.

JWMarriott's exterior will make the Westin look like Motel 6. (But they'll leave the light on for ya, eh?)

It looks like it's hollow from the deck protrusion up; the flame will have to travel 4 floors to be able to light anything. Suddenly Stix looks like a giant ash tray with cigarettes sticking out.

Closer look at the rendering it looks like there are three levels of glass above the the top floor, is that included in the floor count or not ?

^ ^ ^ No...just finishing the clearing of the old Rescue Mission building.  Ground breaking should be very soon, though.

If we can get more corporations like Bridgestone to move downtown will have a strong Skyline that is one of the keys to a lot of Taller buildings in downtown

I'm still surprised that a major corporation like that would build such an average-height (400s ft range) and average-design skyscraper rather than one that would truly stand out (50+ floors) with an iconic design.

Why can't a corporation have a 60-70 story built and share it with other companies?  Surely not all of the towers downtown have one tenant?

Plus...the tower they built still won't hold all of their Nashville employees.  Doesn't make sense.

I think the shortness was due to:

A. Their timeline - much taller building would have taken too long.

B. They wanted the building to        themselves - already going to be a nightmare parking situation.  Friend on mine will be working there and said there will be different schedules for employees so everyone isn't arriving and leaving at the same time. 

C.  The blunder of forgetting about 250-300 employees - DOH!

Any other building/tenant/city, a taller building with spec would have been a no-brainer.  Nashville' motto: Plan tall, build short, regret later.

I still don't see why a mixed use of office, residential, and hotel can't be built in order to get some height. It happens in other cities. And yes, I know this is Nashville....
