The current hall of champions is 8,100 sq ft and the biggest retail spot for lease at LU is 8,500 so definitely would work. Not sure if they are really considering moving it though, I think there is some incentive money tied up in it as well.

My boss was interviewed last night about it as he was headed out of the lobby. The news  have been saying it’s going into”Legacy Union” but they will be in our building, the Deloitte tower (650 s Tryon st). Apparently there are only 2 leasable floors left. 
 

and while I’m here, progress update  sorry for the garbage quality but this is the worst time of day for the angle of the sun

I totally agree, I think every city with anything above 500’ needs an observation deck/restaurant!! Great photos!

fwiw, I'm pretty certain what you're seeing is Crowder's Mountain to the right, then a little dip, then Kings Mountain to the left. The peak of Crowders is the closest bit at 24 miles away from Legacy Union.

Those are isolated but are/were part of the Apps or at least what’s left, though yes it’s the closest Mountains (not really true mountains since they’re less than 1000’) to Charlotte! Though cameras aside from proper lenses for correction are not true to eye-vision so the mountains are much more visible than the image leads on. You can zoom in and you can see the Appalachians proper.

You can see the Blue Ridge Mtns a part of Appalachian Mtns sometimes from uptown Charlotte towers and likewise you can see the Charlotte skyline from the Blue Ridge Parkway esp. near Grandfather Mountain.  I have seen it with my own eyes from uptown Charlotte and a few times from BRP.   Mostly what we see from Charlotte is the South Mountains in the Burke county area and of course the much closer Crowders and Kings Mountains of Gaston county.   But on crystal clear days you can the Appalachian Mtns from uptown Charlotte towers but its need to clear low humidity air.   Usually from the BRP you see just the tallest buildings but you can see the lineup of the buildings.

I believe they occupied two floors before closing the office within the last month. The initial plan in 2021 was to create 400 jobs between 2021 and 2025 - at that time they had 7 full time workers in North Carolina working remotely.  Sounds like they had hired 82 full time employees up to this point and moved into Deloitte, and then decided to lay off 23% of the workforce across the company (after already cutting 9%) which included the entire Charlotte office.

Progress update. 
 

In regard to the Robinhood question above, I’m pretty sure we have the option to take over that other floor (9th) since we are subletting the 8th floor from them. I can tell you with all the hiring we’ve been doing, this floor is almost full. I think that we will slow down hiring a bit before the new year but I know that will need more space if we continue at our current pace.
