From Metro Councilman Jeff Syracuse’s  Facebook page, news of a community meeting regarding a proposal for a townhouse development at 2001 Lebanon Pike. The 12 acre property is home to the historic Cole House, which will be preserved.

Anyone know why or how these street lights ended up in backyards?  This example is not the only one I have seen.   The below picture is of a house built in the 50s and another example I have is of a house built in the early 1900s.

It's a dumb question but I'm just curious.

Homeowners can contract with NES to have a streetlight installed for a monthly rental fee. Perhaps that is the case with these.

The Northern (4 stories, 297 units) at 620 West Due West Ave. near I-65 has landed a $43.7 million construction loan from Fifth Third Bank.

I listened in on the Lincoln Tech earnings call this morning. The CEO stated that they anticipate selling their Nashville campus in the 2nd quarter - initially it was first quarter - for 34 million. The property is under contract and they are looking elsewhere in the Nashville area for a new smaller campus

Hawkins Barbershop is closing.

The Walden has closed but I hear it may be taken over by another bar/restaurant owner.

2 quick observations after my lunch break:

- The signs are back up for Calypso Cafe

- Core sampling being done on the vacant lot at 926 Gallatin Avenue. It’s the lot next to Hunan Express and is around .44 acres.

Forbes Plunkett and Core Development have finalized the purchase of the former Nashville Memorial Hospital structure at 616 Wes Due West Ave. for $7 million from Charles Jones.  Eventually, they will finish purchasing the rest of the site from Jones and repurpose/add to form their vision for a large mixed-use project with residential and retail elements.

Walden is being turned into a 1930's themed bar.  Owners of Pearl Diver.  I caught the guy coming out of the space last week when I was getting coffee at Elegy.

Park Haven, a new 55+ community in Hermitage is coming along, with numerous homes occupied and lots more under construction. It’s location adjacent to a new trailhead for Stones River Greenway (located at the end of Hickory Hill Lane) and the new regional park being developed nearby make it a great choice for active adults. The community will include a yoga room, indoor walking track, swimming pool, pickle ball court, etc. Many of the homes seem large to me for a retirement community, but I suppose some who retire aren’t ready to fully downsize. Other units under construction are of a slightly more modest square footage, and I believe some townhomes are included in the plans. One thing I like about the property is that none of the homes have garage doors that face the street. Many of them have alley access garages, along with a modest size back yard. Others have the garage on the front of the building, but they are side loading.

Two former Cleveland Park church structures that back up to each other at 1105 Stainback Ave. (circa 1925) and 1100 Lischey Ave. (circa 1950) have been purchased for a combined $2.15 million  by Martin Bubis. The most recent congregation of the structures, Grace Apostolic  Church, paid a cumulative $381,000 for the structures over 40 years. No word on Bubis' plans as of yet.

Same family but a different member of the family. The B&B was done by Bobby Bubis, but this property was bought by Martin Bubis. I think that may be the son. Not entirely sure. William knows better than I do.
