  1. Could be for the parking garage cover if the crane is south of Michigan.
  2. I'm pretty sure the parking garage is a go, just not the liner building along Monroe. So maybe they are moving the crane to start erecting the garage.
  3. Looks like Spectrum is planning on adding three levels of parking and a roof to this parking garage.
  4. Just want to randomly bump this post... for no real reason
  5. A few update shots on the construction happening in Ada. First up, the library is making good progress: Second, building A2 is coming along nicely: Just a refresher, below is the overall layout and A2's location. Also, bids for building B5 (Luna's new restaurant) were sent out late last year, so I have a feeling there will be movement in the not so distant future on that site.
  6. I hadn't noticed the difference but you're right, that glass section is new. Here's the full rendering:
  7. Can't really tell from the renderings, but they are widening the existing portion of Concourse A by about 25'.
  8. Bids for the steel on this are due this week. And if I'm looking at the proposed construction schedule correctly, you all should start seeing movement on construction beginning in April, with a proposed end date out in April 2022.
  9. Talk about a section of city that could use a facelift...
  10. Looks like Tapestry Square has had a bit of a redesign. I like the ground floor look a lot better than the previous rendering above.
  11. Would you describe it as a... wait for it... game changer?
  12. Definitely not Monroe North. I am excited to see some development along Lafayette, the near north side could use a 'corridor' of sorts and I hope this spurs on some more mixed use development. With GVSU expanding north and all the medical mile development, it'd make for a close place for students and hospital employees to live. Hopefully the next lot that gets developed is the one kitty-corner from the Bazzani project.
  13. Putting this here because it was briefly mentioned earlier in this thread, the stone wall along Lyon will be getting retail spots. Glad this is happening sooner rather than later. https://mibiz.com/sections/real-estate-development/cwd-to-add-street-level-commercial-space-along-lyon-street-in-downtown-grand-rapids
  14. Looks like unit 5 is gearing up to start soon, construction docs show site work to start in a couple of weeks with a tentative date of building enclosure by Feb of 2020. Also site work for the library is well under way, I'll try to snap a picture of two in the near future.
  15. Don't want to ruin anybody's excitement over this project, what with it getting started soon, but there is a chance it could be shrinking by a floor.
  16. I meant to say the third floor windows, my bad. When I looked at the rendering I had assumed the bottom of the windows started at the horizontal ledge, but looking a little closer it looks like it's (painted?) concrete.
  17. Is it just me or does it seem like the windows on the second floor got smaller compared to the rendering above?
  18. I believe so. Looks like some retail is scheduled to be the lobby for the future tower on top of the parking garage.
  19. That's a perfect corner for a scout tower that can light a big bonfire to alert the castle of an incoming invasion.
  20. I was more thinking along the lines of the valuable land it's sitting on, probably one of the better views in the city. Now would be the time to try to get them to sell while they are looking at the hassle of fixing a blown off roof, insurance claims, contractors, and displaced residents. I'm sure you're right that there is no significant structural damage, that think looks like it's built like a tornado shelter (except for the roof apparently... )
  21. Was just reading the article on MLive and was thinking about who is going to make an offer on that corner property. I'm guessing that apartment building will be coming down.
  22. Don't think construction will be slowing on this site anytime soon, drawings just came out for these two buildings (sorry don't have any renderings to pass along):
