Waking this thread up - I noticed on the Building Eye website that there's a lengthy application for apartments, parking, and commercial space. Anyone know anything about this? We at Fountain Street Church next-door are in a perpetual state of hope cycles that something will happen with this building - haha.

It will be so nice to see that building get a facelift! It is such a tired and dated looking building right now. Almost anything is an improvement.

Elsa's is apparently just owned by Studio Park/Celebration. They're taking over operations of the space.

Malamiah (juice) and Pump House (frozen yogurt) have both closed at Studio Park or are in process… The theater is taking over the ice cream spot and Malamiah will go dark.

I just read recently in their planning docs that they’ve reoriented the building to facilitate a more “downtown” like positioning for when development hops across Ada drive - so that is promising!

Ugh I know this was my first thought. Socially/politically gross - and also why does anything like that need to take up space in a business district like Bridge. And also yeah… ewww gross.

I’m not sure but I do know there was a fire there yesterday so it may be related to that? WOODTV had a story about the fire.

I was standing next to this two days ago and someone with the crane crew told us that it won’t be full height. They will have one more extension of it down the road as the building goes up.
