  1. Sure would be nice if they did a little renovating on this side of the Van Andel Arena, so people hanging out in Studio Park aren't looking at the as...umm butt end of the arena.
  2. Not sure where else to put this, and I don't know if anybody else has brought it up, but there is a large development of townhomes going up on Spaulding just north of Cascade Road. This morning there was a truck or two sitting in front of every single garage door, they are moving pretty fast on these. The website doesn't have much info on the units, or rather any info: www.knolltownhomes.com And just south of Cascade Road also on Spaulding a lot of land has been cleared on the west side of the street, I'm guessing for another housing development much like this one.
  3. Crood mistribution pacility... my rhyming skills need some work I guess. Sorry my last post was a bit misleading, I have no idea on an announcement, this is just budgetary stuff at the moment, no drawings yet that I know of.
  4. There could be some activity here in the not so distant future, another potential 1/2 million square foot facility
  5. It might not be vacant all that long... somebody is pulling budget numbers together on a 1/2 million square foot facility in that area.
  6. Progress shot of the new building at the corner of Ada and Headley. There is one more stair core further back along Headley, unfortunately my camera phone doesn't have a wide angle lens.
  7. The old Zeytin building in Ada is coming down. Not sure how firm the plans are, but I've heard that there is going to be a hotel going up where this building is soon to be removed. Also, the building at the corner of Ada and Headley has all the stair/elevator cores up, I'll try to get a picture but it's an awkward site to get a good picture.
  8. Precast panels are going up! There are probably 20-30 panels on truck beds on the jobsite, one panel per truck, there are going to be a LOT of truck loads.
  9. Yes they really do stand out, whoever ends up getting these units will have one of the best views of the city (IMO). They are even more imposing when you drive by them on Fairview, they dwarf the houses in the vicinity. I could see the rest of the bluff side of Fairview getting developed with housing similar to this to take advantage of the views. Where Trowbridge dead ends up on the hill there is an empty lot with plans for a 3400 ft^2 house listed on Zillow for 1.2 million. (https://www.zillow.com/homes/for_sale/23805154_zpid/42.977042,-85.664403,42.972768,-85.669751_rect/17_zm/) I love the description about it being a 'Tony Stark' residence, maybe if there was a cave built into the bluff for a superhero's secret lair one could justify the price tag.
  10. The Belknap ASP has this area as the core business district (purple area): I always felt walking around that area it could be a good commercial district if they put in some buildings like Bazzani is proposing. I sure would be quite happy to see this area fill in a bit, it could make for a nice corridor on the near north side of downtown, something that is a bit of a void currently.
  11. Had to take a quick trip to Holland today, snapped a few progress pictures (rendering above... I think this is the correct building): And right next door (the under construction part in the rendering below): I guess from the rendering above, that means the Courthouse Square building will be coming down, correct?
  12. I wish i took a picture of it on Monday when I was walking around downtown, the steel is just about all the way up to the top of the stair/elevator cores.
  13. I saw that on my lunch break today. It looked like it was hardly gaining any altitude and was banking pretty sharply over the corner of 36th and Patterson.
  14. The white brick will be the portion of the building nearest the corner, then the portion of the building south of the archway along Headley will become red brick. Below shows a better angle of what the building will look like along Ada, with different color brick for each retail space, I like how the different colors differentiate the different retail spaces.
  15. This is the building that's going up right now at the corner of Headley and Ada, foundation walls look to be just about complete:
  16. Earth work has begun (or is nearly complete actually) on the building in the PDF's shown above at the corner of Headley and Ada drive.
  17. Maybe they could run this along the river and the Movies on Monroe site, if they move slow enough you might be able to catch the entire movie on the trip!
  18. It looks like they already have some tenants for the new construction, not entirely sure a paper company would do well in this spot, but best of luck to Michael Scott!
  19. Here are a couple of pdf's that show the new building going up at the intersection of Ada and Headley. 19359352_A7_Renderings.pdf 19359356_A7_Leasing_Plans.pdf
  20. A few shots from around Ada: School house has been relocated: New building across from the school house: Wasn't sure if this was the new building already up, or something more to come: There is another sign like the one above at the intersection of Headley and Ada kitty corner from the Dixon Architecture building for something coming in 2019.
