  1. Hmmm. It was an approximately 1/2 acre undisclosed lot near Wealthy and Division for sale. It was listed with Berkshire Hathaway at over $2 million. The listing stated that the owner didn't want it publicly marketed. Just wondering if anyone had more info. Here is the cached listing.
  2. Anyone know the story of this: https://www.grar.com/property/mls/18019482
  3. An important Preservation Brief from National Park Service: http://www.nps.gov/tps/how-to-preserve/briefs/46-gas-stations.htm "Abandoned historic gas stations have in the past been viewed as a hindrance to the redevelopment of a neighborhood or community. Yet sensitive rehabilitations can ensure that the historic character of these buildings is preserved while providing for an economic reuse. "
  4. Nearby DTM and sticking with the BBQ theme, The "Horseshoe Smokehouse" is getting ready for their opening. The new restaurant is located in the old Horseshoe Bar building across from the Grand Rapids Ballet on Grandville. This property is really coming to life after all these years. Kudos to the owner. The restaurant ad for employees states: "From scratch kitchen serving classic and modern BBQ." and "This is a fast casual restaurant with limited table service." Might be a good food alternative for people going to Founders or looking for a lunch option near downtown.
  5. 629, 635 and 645 S. Division were purchased in the last few years by corporations that share the same address as Van Eerden Foodservice Company. I'd keep an eye on the west side of the 400 block. Change is in the air.

  9. They are as good as sold despite the fact that water pours inside from the rain. The soon-to-be new owners have a great track record of development in the area. The next surprise on Wealthy St. SE is going to be up the street a bit near Eastern. Ready for even more retail and living space?
  10. The addition will be built to the west of the current building at what is now a parking lot along Jefferson.
  11. Across the street from the ICCF buildings Mary Free Bed plans more development for the area along Wealthy: Mary Free Bed's $48 million expansion plan will nearly double size of rehab hospital

A Vibrant Career at the Ballet, but With a Lens and Not Toeshoes "His first project is discussing with Paris officials the possibility of displaying his 300-foot-long painting of the Joffrey dancer Fabrice Calmels along the bank of the Seine.
