  1. Here’s a more recent photo and I believe the right side of the fence is a gate with a ramp inside the fence. While technically ‘accessible’ it’s certainly not ideal and is a little ableist
  2. Yep, that's the name and the spot. There was a mini-ramp/bowl inside too. Rad little place, was bummed the shows ended.
  3. Walked by the soon-to-open Gin-Gin’s on Summer. Looks way bigger than expected and another fun addition to the Westside entertainment district.
  4. It will be interesting to see if this pivot, to offer more refined food, will be received well by the public. Very similar to some of the food options at Bell's.
  5. I wonder how the Standale location is doing? Seems like a better fit out there.
  6. I actually miss Wheelhouse. I thought that concept was a good fit for the arena district. I guess we'll see what's next.
  7. Wow, surprised to see this. Jeff Boorsma was resistant to soooooo many offers for so long. Curious to see what goes in at the large parcel that Adobe is vacating.
  8. While I'm bummed to lose this gem on the Westside, at least it's still available out on 29th Street. I was wondering if things weren't going so well when they stopped being open on Sundays. Weekends were always fairly busy but weekdays were slow.
  9. I remember seeing the transformation from pawn shop to realty office. Good luck at the new spot and thanks for investing on the Westside.
  10. Can confirm, the food was delicious! Congrats to them for making the jump to brick and mortar space.
  11. Also, they've added 'blended wine' as an option for the non-beer drinkers out there.
  12. I agree it's such a cool space with a bad location. I've been finding it hard to journey out there when there's one on the Westside.
  13. Yep, that spot was 100% a 7-11 back in the day. It's a strange shaped parcel but a clever developer could make good use of the spot.
  14. This building can be seen from west of the Rivertown Parkway exit on I-196E.
  15. Does anyone recall if there's going to be ground floor retail on this corner?
  16. Couple of photos of projects on Bridge St. The first is the little micro hotel, The Blue Jay, at 644 Bridge St NW. It will be interesting to see how this concept does in this neighborhood. The second and third photos are of the Sip Shine project in the old Harmony Hall building.
  17. These two buildings, while providing much needed affordable housing, will help push the density previously contained south of I-196 north into the neighborhood.
  18. Can't wait to check it out and report on the goodness!
  19. Somehow I missed this but the first Warby Parker on the west side of the state opens this weekend. https://stores.warbyparker.com/mi/grand-rapids/1964-breton-rd.-se
  20. The 'Dirty Bird' as is it's affectionally known in some circles, is still open. I drove by last night and they were having a big parking lot party with a food tent and tons of motorcycles. As someone that lives a few blocks away from there, I'm looking forward to fewer loud motorcycles pounding through my neighborhood.
  21. Here's the WoodTV story! https://www.woodtv.com/news/kent-county/main-event-entertainment-center-coming-to-woodland-mall/
  22. Walked by this building today and there was a lot of demo/work going on inside, lumber stacked on the sidewalk, etc ... seems to be moving forward quickly.
  23. Bawhahaha ... I can hear the grumbling already.
  24. Hmmm that's very interesting. I feel like Bridge St would benefit from more community based service/storefronts at the west end of the street, with more of the entertainment options further east.
