  1. Yeah they're all conspiracy theories. https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/2023-End-of-Year-One-Pager-1.pdf
  2. Interesting that this news comes on the heels of accusations of CCP bribery to Green Charter TWP city officials. https://x.com/GOPoversight/status/1838596821792227771
  3. ^ Rodney Dangerfield Back to School diving board memorial.
  4. Good point. The airport will break 4 million YTD in passenger traffic sometime early to mid December. Add to that supporting vehicles for operational, limo, courtesy vans, etc and you have ever growing congestion and indigestion for traffic cops.
  5. Has GVSU made any noise about expansion to their downtown campus, whether classroom or dorms?
  6. Been out of the loop but surprised to read where Harbor Light Brewing out of South Haven opened Oakstown Brewing in Osgood's old building in Grandville back in mid December. Brewery Nyx closed in April. They didn't last long.
  7. 'Although they have faced a decline business, Efting said the county airport has not lacked in funding from state and federal entities.' Your government at work.
  8. Looks like a seawall is under construction at the museum. https://www.9and10news.com/weather/cams/grand-rapids-public-museum/
  9. Any artist depictions laying around encompassing late fall to early spring? You know, clouds, sleet, ice chucks floating downriver, night time and darkness, thousands bundled up watching a show, band members asking what the heck are we doing here, staying warm with whisky flasks, others trying not to slip and fall down?
  10. 27K bump from May to June in passenger count and 13.1% increase year-over-year. 4 million this year looks to be easily obtainable. https://www.grr.org/hubfs/06-2024 Aviation Activity Report.pdf?hsLang=en
  11. Wonder how many accidents this structure will create for those rubbernecking on SB 131 at the curve.
  12. Yes, I speculated about this 3 years ago. It's great you're living there, sometimes I get the feeling many who post don't live or work downtown or the immediate periphery.
  13. Pretty grim findings from the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association in an article which also mentions Broad Leaf's reopening. https://www.fox17online.com/news/local-news/grand-rapids/restaurant-rebound-broad-leaf-brewery-reopens-in-gr-after-january-closing
  14. When I see conversions actually beginning, starting with (apparently) 5/3 I will be convinced CWD has the conviction and skill to pull it off. 'When rents get high enough' begs to ask the question just how high? In a city which relies heavily on tax incentives to keep apartments affordable are conversions going to exclude the very segment of the population which needs affordable housing the most?
  15. Continuation of impressive year over year passenger growth with May showing a 11.5% increase. With new routes slated to start this month it will be interesting to see how this bumps the passenger count. A friend of mine from Boston commented how much he likes the direct Boston to GR route on Allegiant. His only gripe was the scarcity of rental cars. https://www.grr.org/hubfs/05-2024 Aviation Activity Report.pdf?hsLang=en
