If my bearings are correct SM&E let out a preview rendering of the Market @ Southside plaza turned into a mixed use development with a nice streetwall when they had the Curry Ford meeting.   They didn't mention it was Market @ Southside, but when I quickly got my bearings in the rendering, it felt like that was what they were showing.

Brewery and food hall headed to Fort Gatlin

Much better than what I was expecting. I had heard of the brewery, but had no idea they were also getting S&S and DaKine. Hope the pizza is place is of the same quality (please not Bruno).

MARKET. MARKET. MARKET.  THEY'RE CALLED MARKETS.  WE HAVE LIKE 4 OF THEM ALREADY.... THEY ALL HAVE MARKET IN THE NAME.

So. Over. This. Stupid. Food. Hall. Nomenclature.

It’s like everything used to be a “park” (Audubon, College, Baldwin, etc.) Now they have to be a “district” (Milk, Packing...)

Gotta give the marketing majors some job security!

As a Marketing major, I resent that!

When they were trying to name Curry Ford West during the initiation of that Main St program, I was very vocal that they needed to call it something else.   At the time they we're taking suggestions for names and Hourglass District wasn't ever mentioned.  I suggested Crystal Lake Heights but they settled on Curry Ford West as the official name.  Now we have confusion as the westernmost part of the district is commonly referred to Hourglass District.  I wonder if we're gonna see eventually that do what Downtown South did and change the name.

Interesting.  I assume they're gonna close the one on Delaney then.  It's an upgrade to be sure, but... why is no one even attempting any mixed use or height along Orange!

Probably because there’s no room for the required parking.   There was a proposal for apartments with an automated garage on the 2100 block and I think the Wadeview neighbors protested it.  It’s now a Simon Medical Imaging.
