Charlotte Photo of the Day

The opening of Panther stadium was accompanied by naming rights for Ericsson. Many people at that time knew nothing about Ericsson. 28 years later and many people know nothing about Ericsson. Naming rights may maintain awareness but in this case did not establish awareness, imo. Exception for Crypto.com and FTX arenas which establish awareness for all the wrong reasons.

(The photo appears to be of Bank of America, thus 20 years or less of age.)

edit:  I may have had an Ericsson phone, circa 1998

The photo was taken in late summer or early fall of 2005.

Nice @KJ, great find! Queensbridge will do so much to bridge Uptown to SouthEnd and give the QC an exceptionally wide (horizontal) skyline, especially from angles such as this one!

The CLT Skyline will cover in width approx 3.5 miles, an estimated 35 ish city blocks in length, from the first tower in SouthEnd to the last ones on N. Tryon. This is crudely figured on my part. Correct if inaccurate.

This brings tears of joy to my eyes! I recall not too long ago, people used to say Charlotte had an exceedingly thin, scrunched up lil skyline with no width or depth.  Look at it now!

It's been a long time coming, but have just recently moved back to Charlotte, looking forward to contributing again!

Welcome back!  Is that across from Blue Blaze?  I was just there yesterday looking at that development across the street!

It is! This is Cykel Apartments with Grubb Properties:  very neat project, I think there will definitely be some uber eats delivery's taking place here though, without a nearby grocery store it may be tough to get some frozen foods/treats back by bike/foot.
