As I mentioned a few weeks ago (Feb 23), Target decided against being part of this particular development. I am fairly sure there was never an actual agreement to be there in the first place. None of this means that a Super Target will not locate in the area. I feel secure in saying that the likelihood of a Super Target is good :whistling:

I still don't understand this. Traffic is traffic. This is a trade of Super Target traffic for traffic from 500 additional homes.....at 2 cars per household, that's 1,000 extra cars leaving and returning at rush hour.....the same time of day the current residents leave and return. I'm not sure what has been accomplished. :dontknow:

They oughtta tear down the K-Mart on Wade Hampton and build a SuperTarget there. Dunno if that would be enough room, though.

Ooh, I have an even better idea. Tear down all of the Wal-Mart Super Centers in Greenville County and replace them with SuperTargets!

^^ HAHA! Speaking of Walmarts, Columbia is getting a beautiful new Walmart. I accidently stumbled upon it last weekend on my way back from Charleston. Hopefully any new big box regulations will hold stores atleast up to a standard comparable to it. It looked better than TR's. :camera:

You must be talking about the one on Bush River Road. I didn't know it would be a step up from Wal-Mart's usual design. So far, I think the best designed Wal-Mart I've been in is the one off I-75 on Howell Mill Road in Atlanta; it comes with a parking deck and feels a bit more Targetish inside.

Pelham Road already seems to be getting more congested by the day; I would imagine that building a SuperTarget there right off I-85 would contribute to its "Woodruffization."
