Pinnacle Hills Promenade

What type of complaint ?

It is private property and I know Simon Malls (Woodland Hills in Tulsa) do not allow pictures either.

Just curious on the basis of your complaint ?

The complaint was that I was given permission to take photos, and then another security officer told me I couldn't, and I was escorted off the property. No one should have to be embarrased like that, and it wouldn't have happened if the security personnel was properly trained.

EDIT: Best Buy should be completed by the end of the year.

Here's my photo tour of the Promenade. There's not much photos here. Granted my last pic, you can see the security officer that stop me.

Here's the last photo I could take. I've edited out the security officer's face for privacy reasons.

Nice pics Matt. I was hoping there was a pic of the Discovery Channel store. I was also curious, I've heard some people make some comparisons between the Promenade and the NWA Mall. I was curious if anyone had any comparisons between JC Penny and Dillards. I'm assuming these stores have two levels here at Pinnalce also. It's a bit hard to judge Dillards at the NWA Mall since it's got two seperate stores.

How come there aren't any cars parked in the pics? Did they block off the interior so cars couldn't get in?

Nice pics, btw.

Yeah, they blocked it off since it was the grand opening.

I'll continue posting more tenants here as they're announced. I didn't know but the Best Buy is actually on Promenade territory, which will be the first of the outparcels. The outparcels are actually going to be on the western side of 45th Street and the north side of the Promenade. Another tenant I've heard about is Go! The Game, a board game store.

NWA Mall has 2 two-story Dillards and a two-story JC Penney.

Pinnacle Promenade has 1 two-story Dillards and a one-story JC Penney.

Ah so that's where the three story gas station will be located.

I guess I'm a bit surprised both Dillards and JC Penny are both only one level. Maybe they're sprawling stores but seems hard for them to be larger than the ones at the NWA Mall, especially Dillards.

Sorry I wasn't clear. The Promenade Dillards is a 2-story, 200,000 square-foot store. I'm not sure how big in square-footage the NWA Mall Dillards are.

I think these measurements are correct for the square footage of the Dillards (mens and womens) at NWA Mall. The mens Dillards is about 105,000 square foot and the Womens Dillards is 117,422 square foot store for a total of 222,422 square feet which makes it a little bit bigger than the Promenade's Dillards store.

How big is the Promenade's Dillards by the way? Some people say 200,000 square feet and some say around 145-160,000 square feet. The General Growth Properties site says the Promenade's Dillards is about 155,000 square feet which would make it smaller than the combined footage of the NWA Mall Dillards at 222,422 (info for the NWA Dillards came from Macerich's leasing & demographic page).

I wouldn't trust GGP about anything since they've already lied so much about the Promenade as it is. I can say that from one side the Promenade Dillards looks as large as one of the NWA Mall Dillards but from another side it looks half as large. I'd say 155,000 might be right if not smaller.

Both are right. The store actually is 200,000, but only 155,000 of it is open right now. Basically, the upstairs is a lot smaller than the down. They CAN expand into the other 45,000 from what I've heard.

Why they didn't just open the whole thing I don't know... By just going into the store it is obvious that the top is smaller than the bottom, but the outside of the building is the same size all the way up.

Does anyone know when Pleasant Crossing will be opening? Awesome pictures - my favorite is the last, BORDERS in Arkansas at last.

The opening of Pleasant Crossing is not known right now. The BOS Group sold the development and land to a Texas Development Firm. I suspect that we will continue to see Big Box Retailers continously open throught time, and the lifestyle center will be about 2+ years down the road.

missykatydid, are you referring to the Promenade, not Pleasant Crossing? That's open and the Border's is supposed to open there in time for Thanksgiving, I was told.

Of course, things are always subject to change. :)

And it is the Border's I'm most looking forward to.

I'm curious, how is Borders different from Barnes & Noble? I guess I might be more excited if I knew we were getting something substantially different from what we already have...... I've never been to a Borders, at least not that I recall. I do love Barnes & Noble, so I guess at least having another big bookstore may help me to get a comfy chair there on a Saturday night.

Borders is two floors. It has the same feel as a Barnes and Noble, IMO, except that it's two floors.

Also, I just found that all Borders in store cafe's are Seattle's Best Coffe. So we'll probably get one. Seattle's Best Coffee is owned by Starbucks, so it's nothing different than a regular Starbucks.

I like them both equally, although for books I lean toward B&N and for music and gifts I lean toward Borders. B&N also has a nicer children's department than Borders, IMO.

BTW... I took my family to the Promenade tonight and I did have a better impression this time than my first visit. It IS much nicer at night than during the day. We didn't get to check out all the stores since we got there around 8pm, but there's no way we would've been able to walk the entire thing anyway and I'm very greatful that they grouped like stores together. My son officially likes the play area, so if it's good enough for him I have no complaints about it. The stores are definitely smaller than NWA Mall's.

The weird thing is either the Promenade is non-smoking or they forgot to put in any cigarette dispensers anywhere, which could prove to cause a bit of a litter problem. Who wants to walk around cigarette butts all over the place. I would have thought they'd at least have designated smoking areas. Maybe I just need to quit smoking so I wouldn't be wasting time with these thoughts. :D

I told you it would be better at night, didn't I?

You're right about that play area, it reminded me of a cage.

You were definitely right about the nighttime ambiance at the Promenade and I cannot wait 'til Christmas at the Promenade with all the lights and Christmas music in the air! It's going to be great!!

Man! I hadn't even thought about Christmas! You're right, the atmosphere should be awesome. They should have vendor carts with hot cocoa, funnel cakes, strolling carolers, etc, a la Silver Dollar City.
