The Landmark building doesn't look so bad.

Great shot! It looks kinda familiar. I've been meaning to get out there to reproduce it using the new UWA lens, but I've not done so yet. Maybe soon...

Larger sizes, etc.? Clicky Clicky.

...makes me think of my grandmother's soap, the now defunct crime drama-- "THE EDGE OF NIGHT"-- which I became addicted too for sixteen years as MIKE KARR and Chief of Police BILL MARCEAU always managed to stay a step above the fictionalized midwest City of MONTICELLO's evil mob with over-the-top villians like Scofield Killborn, Teresa Vetter, Eric Barrington and Murdock who nearly murdered off the entire cast...Sundown is a greatSHOT!

Are you still visiting the BAY AREA in September?

I've never seen "The Edge of Night" that I can recall, but I do remember hearing about it. Thanks, Zahc!

I'm still awaiting a confirmation from my management chain before I can book my travel, but as far as I know, it's still a go.

Great! Be sure to take your usual super pics...of the GIANTS ending the DODGERS hope at a run for the penant (sp?). Bonds maybe the HR leader, but the GIANTS stink and are in last place in NL-West.

Reruns of EDGE OF NIGHT when it was ABC (1975-84) are now playing on aol.com. The ABC years were videotaped and are weak in comparison to its golden years on CBS from 1956 to 1975...My grandma was there for the first show, April 2, 1956 at 4:30 p.m. EST on CBS. Of course, I wasn't born...yet...and my biological mom was just 16 years old in 1956. EDGE was unique that it was presented LIVE up until 1975, and the show had a 50% male viewership (higher than any soap)--since it generally dealt with cops and robbers with live shootout sequences on its Manhattan studio rooftop. Irving Vendig who wrote the Perry Mason radio-series created EDGE for CBS and Procter & Gamble. In the show's title Cincinnati, home of P&G, was fictionalized Monticello's skyline. The usual soap-plots of romance and affairs or bedroom scenes were rarely seen on EDGE.

...Looks like I'd be spending December holidays in KAUAI to housesit for a friend & take care of dog while she's visiting her son in Oakland...so I probably want get to Greenville until 2008. Kauai (Princeville) is beautiful, but there is hardly any nightlife. I recently left Rockwood Leadership Program in Berkeley and started a new job back in The City with Kaiser Hospital in Durable Medical Equipment at the French Campus out in the fogged-in Richmond district...It's all brand new (for me) and more work than I envisioned, but the pay is swell...What's neat is that I can walk to Golden Gate Park for lunch and pick blackberries...

This is a late add for 9-11, but never too old to post. I captured this photo about one year ago and meant to post it on Sept. 11 this year. I intentionally shot the U.S.A. flag with the New York Life sign as a message that we will never forget the day our nation was horrifically attacked and life in NYC was changed forever.
