I have a BBA in Management with a minor in Chinese Studies.

I work as a web developer for a university, and have been working as a web developer since my Junior year in college.

To show what college really means, I got a D in the only MIS class I took doing my bachelor's and have never really actually used anything that I learned in college. Everything has come from job experience. It's always just been a piece of paper for me.

i think that's more person to person and what you get out of it.

i may not be using my degree at all, but i learned a whole lot (i'd remember a lot more of it if i had a job in the field, but i absolutely love what i do). i took a lot of classes that involved quite a bit of field work.

I have a degree in Nursing (RN) and an Associates in Liberal Arts.

My first day of college was at age 36:)

After graduating I worked 7 years in Seattle's involuntary psychiatric trenches......and after seven years of sanity vs. insanity (my own-lol) I retired. 7 years was enough for me!

Now I'm 51 and don't know what I wanna be when I grow up:)

Oh by the way, I TREASURE my Associates in Liberal Arts degree. I just can't say enough good about it. And I didn't take crip courses to get it. I took difficult subjects, and I have a much better brain because of it:)

My nursing expertise is becoming a memory.....the information learned fading. But my liberal arts education will stay with me FOREVER. I went to college in Florida, a terrific state for higher education.

AS Computer Science

BS Information Science

Currently working as a desktop tech in one of the large CT casinos... just started a few weeks ago and am already looking to position myself to get a position in networking. If I get into database or programming or whatever instead I'll be happy. I just don't wanna do the desktop support stuff as a career. Helping people who need help with stuff like plugging in their peripherals and setting up events isn't my idea of a fulfilling lifetime career.

So many of the employees there are asian, mostly chinese, and I have this urge to learn mandarin. Has anyone tried using Rosetta Stone to learn a foreign language? I'd like to be able to talk to these people (and maybe talk back to them if they're making fun of me) and it wouldn't be a bad career move either...

I'm a residential designer/estimator, though my life-long dream was to become an architect. I wish I hadn't screwed around in school, because I missed out on the chance to get scholarships by being the class clown. I enjoy what I do and the pay isn't bad either... but it could always be better.

I do plan on going back to school in the not-too-distant future. I was planning on doing so last year but I never did. I'm not sure what kind of degree I want to pursue yet, so that's my hang-up.

i decided to make a change to the masters degree i'm going to go for. unfortunately, i can only get free classes at the college i work for, and they have minimal masters programs. i hate business, so i'm quitting the MBA and starting next school year, i'll be going for a masters in education in counseling. i'll just be using it as a higher degree, but i do a lot of career counseling with the students that work for me. :)

Well I feel completely out of place in posting in this particular thread considering I don't have a college degree. I was chosen to take a fast track for several technical certifications during my last year in high school. I technically finished up high school in the 11th grade and focused on specialties relating to electronics and networking technologies.

So I am currently an IT Manager for an auto parts manufacturer but often have dreams of going to get an official degree. Perhaps at some point I will do that, but I'll take experience over college any day when it comes to IT. Sitting here and doing it day in and day out under pressure is way more effective than reading a text-book and taking an exam.
