That's not much parking...maybe 20 cars? I hope they use the GREENLINK TROLLEY to shuttle patrons. OR maybe there is public parking in the Jackson 408, Homewood Suites by Hilton, or the GREENE Apartments PARKING DECKS?

The Greene Apartments has some public spots that you can access from Rhett Street.  I don't know about the other two spots.

The city actually just approved spending for 45+ public parking spots at 408 Jackson last night. Think they just need to get the appropriate controls installed

As of June 1, 2023, construction documents are underway. Information regarding a General Contractor, and method of selection, has not been disclosed yet. Construction is slated to begin January 2024 and be complete in 4th Quarter 2025. Total cost of project is $130 million.

Yeah, it seems like almost every major project downtown is slated to start construction in the short five month window between September and February. Hopefully they all happen and on schedule. Could see lots of tower cranes up at once finally.

This project will be starting construction in April 2024 according to an email I received today from Gateway Ventures. The January start date was preliminary/estimated. The April one is official.

No. The site is currently being used for public parking.

sorry I thought this was the kimpton hotel project.  there is a fence and equipment on that site, but I think since I posted this I saw in another thread that it was for sewer work.

I might be wrong but  demolition looks to be imminent for the abandoned building on site. There were workers inside of it today and a big industrial dumpster out front.

I have received confirmation from the developer that they are indeed prepping for demo and other on site testing. Construction won’t start on the actual project until April though.

The mixed-use development including a 154-room boutique hotel, a café and rooftop restaurant is currently in its design phase.

Crystal Hendrickson, a representative from Spartanburg-based developer Pinnacle Partnerships, said the company will be moving on the permitting in March and will provide more details about the anticipated opening date then.

The developer sought approval from the city’s Design Review Board three times before receiving approval on its fourth application in April 2023.

Towering over Rhett and Wardlaw streets, the hotel will be nine stories tall. The apartments, which consist of 245 multi-family units at the corner of Rhett and Oneal streets, will be 10 stories tall with the appearance of an 11th story to offset the parking garage below.

Permit submission to the city got slightly delayed but project is still moving forward. Slated to start construction in July or August this year.
