Yeah I imagine the design was probably more of a master plan. Like take a look a Southernside and Fireforge, seems like both of them are constantly improving their spaces using cashflow.

Traffic Congestion, Road Construction, & Improvement Projects

Seems worth it. Can they just approve the penny tax for the 8 years, create a dashboard showing progress against these identified projects, and revisit effectiveness 8 years from now? -
Pretty sure the coca cola one was from the 80s. That's not that old

Weird article. Probably describes Greenville County much more so than Greenville City. Most newcomers I meet in the city are more moderate/lean left it seems like. Kinda weird to paint Greenville as some right wing haven, that is very concerned with restricting abortion and scared of transexuals, when that's not the case at all. According to Cook PVI, SC-04 has very slowly trended less conservative/more moderate over the past decade (from R+15 to R+12) -
I imagine there is some of that. It's zoned MX-2. What I don't understand is how they are expecting these units to go for market rate.. I wish they had factored in affordable housing in order to get the height bonus (up to 4 stories) then added a ground floor mixed component. Honestly, I am just at a base level against any development west of Academy on Pendleton not including a workforce/affordable component. Hopefully there is community pushback against this.

https://churchstbridgerehab.com/resources.aspx#construction This site now has the handout from yesterday's meeting available as well as videos showing the construction phasing and finished product (not sure if these are new, but hadn't seen them before) -

Staff is recommending approval of project EXCEPT for screening/gating of of the first floor windows and door.

I was looking at that too yesterday, it definitely comes off more of a recreational center with the tennis courts, lacrosse markings, etc, but perhaps just a clever way to put a placeholder without the attention of throwing an actual stadium in there. It probably makes the most sense out of anywhere on the site
-
People just get nervous about privatization of previously public spaces, which is very understandable. Hopefully they find a way to codify the schedule in order to keep it public as often as possible, only closing them night before specific, rare events, etc.

Anyone aware of any additional movement on the mixed-use Vardae redevelopment along Laurens? I heard a rumor that there is plans developing for the Triumph stadium to be located here.

Pendleton Street [between West End and West Greenville]

At Blythe? Phase 2 is adding a dedicated right turn there -
Still waiting to hear more about the old Canal building on stone as well... But on topic. Yeah I think the massing is a big improvement. I like the rounded commercial with the balconies on residential. I think there's enough there to make it interesting enough with materials and color.

Is your solution to have no construction? All across the country construction happens and the world still turns and businesses find ways to conduct their business. Continual progress is the way the world works. -
Last 3 times I've tried were trash. Quick generic google search shows my experience isn't isolated https://www.google.com/search?q=whataburger+became+bad Whataburger was purchased by a PE firm in 2019 who immediately prioritized broad expansion and cost cutting
-
Yay now everyone gets to experience how crappy whataburger has become. Last time I went to one I couldn't even finish my sandwich. That never happens to me.
-
More so, to me, either it screams that proterra was an absolute financial mess or Phoenix had no business purchasing them and some investors/banks somewhere really f'ed up
-
Phoenix has missed paychecks apparently several times over the last couple months. Not good.

Here's more info: https://www.yuritsuzuki.com/turning-point Looking forward to seeing this come together, seems like a cool concept

This was agreed back sometime in 2023 and reported in December. I would imagine completely unrelated to current schedule

Announced for September 21st. Same weekend as Euphoria, which is probably not a coincidence
