I know nothing about where it's going, but if I were in charge of that I'd look somewhere between the Gulch and Midtown.  Close to the convention center and Broadway just doesn't strike me as their target market.  Are they in quieter areas of the cities where they're in now?

Things have been a little slow as of late but the 8 ball is out of the closet and has new batteries.   Things are starting to percolate again is all the 8 ball can say. Some of this is long range

I bumped my head a few years back and stayed at the St. Regis in San Francisco.  It was right smack dab downtown.

I pass by the St. Regis in DC practically every Friday evening leaving Happy Hour at a restaurant nearby.  The St. Regis is two blocks north of the White House.  When you step out of the hotel main entrance onto the sidewalk, the White House is literally in view down the street.  So, it's in a prime location.  The primary entrance fronts to Black Lives Matter Plaza which is formerly 16th Street.  It's definitely not in a quiet area.  One side faces K Street which is an extremely busy street.  Late night hours the area tones down.  When you're inside it does have a since of quietness.  You might forget that it's in such a busy location.   Unlike the new property in Chicago, this property is very traditional.  More Hermitage Hotel than JW Marriott.  It will be interesting to see which direction they choose for Nashville in terms of style.  Stodgy or modern.   I suspect modern.

Just an FYI if this hasn't already been noted, St. Regis is building a residential only property in Boston.  So, that could also be an option for Nashville.

Metro owns the Customs House, and they are in an agreement with Colliers to lease it. So, I don't know how long that agreement is for and if Metro could get out of the lease or if Colliers could lease it as a hotel. 

A lot of questions in there! I do like the idea of it being other than something that an office building. It needs some TLC.

...And last time I was in there, a fair amount of the space was sitting empty.   I terrific structure that could be put to much better use.

That’s probably because a lot of the offices that were in there were overflow offices from the Federal Courthouse. Now that the new Courthouse is complete they probably do not need a lot of that space anymore.

Metro does not spend very much for upkeep of the building either. They put a new roof on it, but Metro does crap on the cheap and will only do what they need to do to get by. The outside of the building needs to be cleaned severely. Who knows what the inside looks like.
