Foundation permit applied for on June 11 for Tower 1 - a 22 story structure

based on the posted renderings, it looks like Tower 1 will be taller than the shortest of the three towers by maybe 2-3 floors, but still shorter than the next tallest tower of the three.

From Sentinel today:

" A Manhattan developer is planning X-Orlando, which would be the largest residential building in downtown. The site comprised of three towers — topping out at 368 feet — totaling 900 apartments, ground floor retail, 85,000-square feet of retail and 35,000 square-feet of co-working space.

Baker Barrios is the architect of record for this project, and Dunkelberger said it could have a grocery store on the ground floor.

He said the X Orlando project has achieved approval and is working on building permits now in hopes of beginning construction at the end of the year with an undetermined opening date."

This is the lot directly across from the courthouse, next to Crescent, right?

Correct. And on Livingston. So it will be closest grocery store to UCF/VD, North Quarter, and all the new apartments being constructed/proposed around that area.

could means will, but then again, didn't Modera miss the mark with that Tampa chain?

My money is on Trader Joe's or Sprouts or Whole Foods, b/c Fresh Market, Publix, Lucky's, and Earthfare are all too close.

It could have a roller rink on the ground floor, or an off-site Space X office, or possibly the world's largest alligator tank.

How about this.... an oval roller rink with steeply banked turns on each end (like Daytona), with an alligator tank in the center?

And for extra fun and excitement, no inside guard rail.

I really think I’d rather have a college Target, but then I tend to be sedate.

Just thinning the herd.  It makes the herd as a whole more healthy.  I saw that on Animal Planet.

"Dorm like offering"??? “You can rent the bedroom by the month and there would be a common room in the middle of the quad, so it’s kind of a post-dorm environment,” (wtf???)

And, of course, "According to the city, the layout and heights of the towers could change."

Personally, I’m glad to see thought going in this direction. If you’ve ever read Walden Two by B.F. Skinner you’d be aware a key component of unaffordable housing and other American social woes are the real estate and development industries forcing more product on us than we really need.

It’s obviously not for everyone but more options are a good thing. For example, given how few people in America actually cook, not everyone needs the expense of a kitchen. The result has been microwave dreck which is not only artificially inflating real estate prices but also leading us to spend too much money later on health care from years of bad diets.
