UConn seems to be throwing a fit about the new deal since they can’t sell their basketball rights locally.

They sure are but reading between the lines they seem to be also whining about how far they’ve fallen since their glory days.

I’m not from up there but I’m guessing there’s a reason state schools in the Northeast are rarely competitive in the top tier of college football. Maybe they’re wasting resources on that which should be used for basketball. As it is, they seem to be hemorrhaging cash.

For UCF, our future looks really bright compared to where we’ve come from. For a lot of UCONN fans it must seem like just the opposite.

AAC hoops Power Cincy has just lost its longtime coach Mick Cronin to UCLA.

The crime here is that it didn’t necessarily have to be. Coach Cronin has roots in the area and had stayed put long after he could have left for greener pastures. UC has long taken him for granted, however, and he reportedly tired of not being appreciated.

One of the great things about UCF AD Danny White is that he has no problem praising his coaches but also showing his appreciation in extended contracts when a keeper like Coach Heup or Coach D shows promise. Further, the school has shown a readiness to back him up.

His cousin was very nice.  I had the chance to meet him at an event when I was young and Manute was just the kindest man.

I suppose they are trying to replace Tacko with a slightly smaller guy?  Moses doesn't seem to have a lot of minutes at a JC, so he must be a project.  If I've got a 7'2" guy at a JC, I'm playing him more than 4 minutes a game if I can.

A fairly mild outing in the NFL draft by the hometown boys.  Although, I believe it wasn't so much the senior class that was doing well this year, but the underclassmen.

Congrats to DT Trysten Hill for getting drafted by the Cowboys in the 2nd round.  He's getting a lot of hype as a great pick.

The undrafted free agent pool hasn't been officially announced and won't be settled for a few days, but it looks like 5 Knights were picked up by teams by the time Monday AM rolled around.

  • OL Miller (Jets)
  • WR Snelson (Jags)
  • K Wright (Steelers)
  • WR Colubiale (Jags)
  • CB Causey (Falcons)

Maybe we’ll just say they’re Bull-fickle. After spending about $50000 to find a new academic logo, USF has ditched its latest handiwork that made it look like a branch of Merrill Lynch and will just use the athletics department’s “Bull-U” logo. Change is good?

From the St Pete Times

I might add that the current Pegasus logo UCF is using is one of the classier academic logos I’ve encountered but then I’m biased.
