Gawd, I'd love to see this one go up. Not because of its size or its contribution to downtown residential options (it's doing well already), but this one truly is a beautiful building and so unique among buildings in Nashville.  And the rendering we've all seen doesn't offer views from the other angles. IIRC it has a step-back on the west side and its triangular shape would look amazing hovering above the Interstate inner loop. 

Added... I believe it's the 'basket weave' pattern of the facade. Looks great.

I just addressed Pete's question about this in another thread. They own the property and were moving forward a little before Covid.

I think they are just waiting. The land is money in the bank for them, so unless they need the money, they will sit on it till the timing is right.

The land is worth at least twice what they paid for it now.

When I was a  little fellow, I'd sometimes watch a fishing show after the Saturday morning cartoons ended.  As part of the open music, you'd here a male voice sing..."gone fishin', instead of just a wishin'!"  Well, I'm still a wishin' for this'n!  Wish I was gone fishin'...and watching this beauty rise.

I'd guess that buckingham-gulch-tower is the most sought after proposal for our forum.  I mean the Ritz-Carlton and the 4-tower Station District complex and some others are on the list, but this tower seems to hold the crowd favorite. I know it's mine.

Actually it is Paramount, then maybe Buckingham. But the Ritz project is right up there not to mention the 2nd & Peabody.

Without question Paramount is the hands down top project! Question for the holder of the magic 8 ball. if things don’t work out as planned for the 2nd & Peabody , would it be a possible thing for them to purchase the parking lot at KVB and 2nd in front of the Centric? That would be a awesome site!

Definitely possible and would be nice to develop that corner parcel.

That being said idk how many parking spots are under the Ben West Library but with Hastings being in there some parking may be needed. Or I would say tenants will need a parking agreement with either the library or the AEG in NY (once complete) for employees

I still hope the single game changer will be Signature Tower.  The triple threat would be Signature, Buckingham and Paramount.

Yes, I know Signature is dead, but I can't seem to get it out of my head.  Kind of like West End Summit used to be until Broad West was shot into my vein.  We just need that centerpiece of the skyline that Signature or Paramount could provide not just because of the proposed height, but also because of the crowns.

I don't know if many of us will ever be able to fully get over Signature Tower. I mean, they really just don't build many ornamental buildings like this anymore, not even in NYC or Chicago.

That said, Nashville's rapid increase in density and infill has made Signature's impossibility a lot easier to swallow for me. Height will come eventually, and I hope that whoever brings it just takes their role as Nashville's tallest building seriously and gives the city a new icon to be proud of.

The recent news at Paseo Gulch has made me remember my desire for this beauty.  That location is perfect for it...or another similarly magnificent tower.  400+ feet sitting right on top of I-40 is drool worthy!

One would think, that with the current boom in residential in Downtown that if they haven’t resurrected this yet , they’re not going to. It’s a beautiful tower and would surely look good anywhere Downtown, but be a true knock out on that parcel.

I heard through the legal world grapevine that Buckingham ran into money trouble. They're not a large company and they "bit off more than they could chew".  I think they haven't made any large announcements in years.
