Last election the selection of candidates sucked for all voters...old (like myself) or young. Hardly a real leader amongst the bunch of ‘em in the general election. The choice between Briley and Cooper was abysmal.

So I haven't been sure how to count that ground level as one floor or two... I default to one floor... so the second floor is where the glass has started being wrapped.

I think you are correct. Below that is partly a very tall 1st floor and a mezzanine I think.

The Downtown Design Review board staff reviews proposals and then makes a recommendation to approve, approve with conditions, defer, or disapprove.

The staff is made up of members of the planning dept. They would get recommendations from schools, traffic, public works, etc. on the workings of the project. When you look at the staff reports there is information regarding the number of students, elementary, middle and HS that a residential project would generate, not to mention the amount of traffic a project would generate. Water Sewer studies have already been done at the expense of the developer as have most of the other studies. Metro is not on the many if any of these studies.

Community meetings have to be done in addition before this ever gets to the Planning commission as well and they take into account public comments, the character of the neighborhood, the zoning, etc.

A  lot of things have to happen before a project ever gets to the planning commission stage and is sometimes a 2 year process or even longer.

Ok...silly question.  While building upper 10th...I notice they use "square" forms to pour the concrete.  Will they go back and "saw off" the edges to make the roadway the width of the road and shoulders...or will they leave the huge square concrete slabs the way they are poured?
