MY job is to post the pile count!!!      lol jk. Yeah i wonder how much more they really have. Its hard for me to consider it under construction when the steel/concrete is not going up yet.

Yeah I have a hard time looking at pile driving as construction. I need to see steel and concrete being put together before I call it a real construction project.

Why do you see it hard to look at that as construction? It supports the building and its progress. Can't have a building without something to support it

If thats not construction I don't know what is. They have the entire area tore up, pile drivers and concrete everywhere. Honestly, it's about as classic a construction site as you will ever see.

And as far as pile driving and foundation work not being construction... it's progress---which is good regardless.

...Of course I wouldn't mind seeing the building going up physically, but it'll be worth the wait.

Man, they are really flying out there. Looks like maybe someone is lighting a fire under the GC rear end. Don't want to get behing schedule. Especially when that schedule affects a thousand employees.

What are we seeing in the latest pic? The big hole is the foundation, correct? Where will the tower cranes go (if you can tell from the pic)?

Very important to keep the young talent here. Just think, in a few hours when the sun comes out it could be a sauna. The possibilities are endless.

No not yet. That thing in the corner is the dormant pile driver.

Piles were being driven this morning (I heard at least two).

One of the small cranes is currently unloading three pilings off of a truck right now.

I wonder how close they are to driving the last pile. I can't wait to see the building being erected! I just wish we would here some kind of info on the Hilton!

Woo!! Great news!! Now time for the big cranes and steel!

I'm more than a little impatient---that goes without saying lol---but I cannot WAIT to just see htis thing topped out. It'll look so amazing within the Norfolk skyline, and knowing that it's starting to go up as we speak is so exciting!
