Paraphrasing. It's very disappointing. They had to get construction plan approval after ARB approval and the construction plans are supposed to match the ARB plans but somehow the construction plans were approved without the brownstones. I'm going to research it some more although I shouldn't because it just gets me mad. I wish we could do something to fix this. These units would have livened up that stretch of Mariposa so it would not have looked just like Mariposa near 420.

Downtown rents are low in Atlanta and Philadelphia. Seems strange.

The City just emailed me back and said that the brownstones on Mariposa (the ones on the ARB approval) were removed somehow. I have no idea how something like this could happen. The ARB report is excellent and the design included in the ARB report looks really good. Apparently, none of that matters and they're building whatever they feel like building and there's not anything that anyone can do about it.

I've been emailing Doug Metzger in the Planning Dept. He's normally really good about responding. Maybe he's on vacation. Any help would be appreciated. We need to confirm that those units will be built. Ground level for Phase 3 of this project will be much nicer it's facing some active units instead of just a garage like they have on the south side of 420.

Some of them were having sex on the bridge at 2:00 pm a couple of Tuesdays ago when I was walking by.

Does anyone know why this is the case?

It's awesome and no problem at all. I go jogging around the lake every so often.

I'm assuming that they don't really have a choice. I hope I'm not wrong.

There's maybe 6-10 feet from the garage to where I think the property line is. Also, the ARB report appears to show them being cut into the garage spaces and not built out from the garage. I emailed the City about this two weeks ago but I'm still waiting to hear back. I think there are three more floors, on the Eola Ave. side.

A huge shame. I still can't believe that wasn't included with the I-4 plans.

I think this will work better when they finish the Robinson Street improvements. Is that work still moving forward?

How did you come to that conclusion?

This would be my dream but I'm not so sure that this is the plan. Is there any new information about this? I still cannot believe it wasn't straightened. I get mad even typing about it.

The ARB-approved plans include townhome units on the south side. I've been meaning to email the City about this for a few months. The townhome units had better be included.

It's in line with code but it just seems like a massive amount. That's over $6mm dedicated just for parking. In ten years, I'd guess that maybe 50% of those spaces are being used. It's no different than any other development downtown but that number really jumped out on this one for some reason. It's surprising that Developers aren't building parking that can be easily converted into usable space later on.

417 parking spaces

I'd like to see more about their plans for the courtyard between Phase 2 and the Bumby Arcade. That could be really cool if they did it right.

The Crossman site project is awesome but I'm surprised that the existing 533 Brookhaven building is not considered historic. It was built in 1925 and the City staff report kinda brushes over it like it's no big deal.

They should name the whole neighborhood "Union West".

It's part of the Suntrust parcel and owned by Piedmont but there's 85 feet or so free. Piedmont should build two tall, skinny residential towers with access to their existing garage.
