  1. They're working out there every day but it's hard to see any noticeable progress over the past 3-4 weeks.
  2. They finally started construction on this thing this week.
  3. I've lived in Thornton Park since 2005 and the planes have never bothered me. During certain weather patterns (this is my guess), they fly directly over my house during the afternoon.
  4. This is a great idea and I've been hoping for this to happen for years. They should allow three daily banks of flights, starting with maybe 4-8 max per bank with regional planes like an Embraer. It could eventually become a junior PBI. Actually, Daytona has about 10-12 flights per day so it could start out similar to DAB but with smaller planes.
  5. They're designing around the billboard. With such a large project, I'd expect they'd be able to buy out that lease.
  6. Strange that they show a semi truck completely blocking the cross-walk on the site plan. They normally try to make that problem less obvious.
  7. This is really awesome. That ballroom needs to go ASAP so that there'll be foot traffic from Sunrail/hotel/office to Church Street through this corridor.
  8. The garage is six floors. They finished the garage first and are now working on the outside wrap-around units. They're really only on about floor 4 right now.
  9. I thought the City required like 50 or 80% of the first floor for storage projects to be dedicated to retail/restaurant space. I think it's 50% of first floor SF and 80% of first floor street frontage. It seems like a great code requirement. Didn't it apply to this project?
  10. The official ARB approval for the project is for 25 floors. I've seen various media reports with different floor counts but the official approval was for 25.

    Brightline Trains

    There's an FEC spur going to the Port. It has a bridge that was damaged by one of the hurricanes but was re-built in 2012. I assume they'd have trains leaving FLL and going either to the main Miami station or to the Port.
  12. The brick intersection on Virginia looks nice and looks nothing like what I drove over about an hour ago.
  13. I'm pretty sure there's ARB approval for this third phase included with the ARB approval for the 520 project. Hopefully, the buyer is serious and will build something soon. Does anyone have any additional info about this?

  16. The project is about a 6.5-7 but the fact that we'll get rid of a vacant lot and add 320 new apartment units downtown is a 10.
  17. I really hope Phase 2 has a large residential component. It would be great to have something compliment 55W which kinda sits over there all alone.
  18. Another 320 units. This is great! Combined with 520 Church Street, that's 684 units under construction, excluding the Creative Village stuff and Novell-Yard-Fairchild Chapel developments, and the smaller townhome projects.
  19. They were getting started on some utility excavation today when I jogged by.
