Pearl District - Atrium/Wake Forest School of Medicine
Blue_Devil replied to Desert Power's topic in Charlotte
It’s not just the Surgical training center, the Med School itself is going to bring in visiting speakers, doctors, and prospective students and their families. Once there are more programs, like a business school, more hotel space will be needed. Duke’s business school alone has 2 hotels on site. -
So is this the start of the build for Millenium?
-
I thought they traded land with the city
-
Is something actually being built here? Or are they just tearing it down
-
I read the CO. The amount of accounts in scope was extremely limited, and the Bank worked with the CFPB and OCC on this. That’s why the “slap on the wrist”
-
So between this 31 story tower, the sandwich max tower, and the Wells Fargo tower we will get close to 1400 units in 3 towers. Wow

There are two cranes at Legacy, unless they took the second down? -
New HQ in Charlotte. Rail company TTX relocating their HQ here from Chicago, with an average salary of 162,000. They are taking 70k office space as well, but no confirmation on which building or area yet https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2023/07/11/ttx-co-to-relocate-hq-from-chicago-to-charlotte.html

It’s great news. And Charlotte is going to be riding in Education as well. Eventually the Wake Forest Med school will have a full MBA program, nursing school, pt/ot school, PA school, and maybe even a wing of the law school. If that goes well near uptown I suspect we might see another big name private school bring a MBA and Law program here. Probably not medical.

It actually seems like we have hit a tipping point and office space in most growing markets is stabilized. I think we will see the new space fill out. Some of the uptown office space fill out and then hover around 80% occupancy in SouthEnd and uptown for the next 2-3 years, with no new office starts unless there is a tenant… which we will see a bit of.

First Ward Urban Village / North Tryon Vision Plan
Blue_Devil replied to uptownliving's topic in Charlotte
So we should, eventually, get the 30 story tower next to Inlivian, the Vela tower, Ellis, and the inLivian project itself. That’s actually a dense pocket of about 1600 units and a few hotels -

I thought this site had its own Apartment tower, separate from Vela -
They have actually been very active recently with some rezoning and work with the Dilworth historical group
-
Fun fact, CMPD is hiring a bunch of new officers giving them higher salaries and sticking them all in uptown

110 East: 23 story Tower by Stiles/Shorenstein
Blue_Devil replied to CLTProductions's topic in Charlotte
Lol, why the confused faces? There is a second apartment tower component to the 110 East site. It will go where Honey Tulepo was. -

Anyone have a idea on the Residential tower part of this? -
So will this be a two tower development? Sandwich Max first, and then Wells property?
-
McDowell street is direct access to 2nd ward and Brooklyn village from here, with the new medschool in between
-
You all should take a look at this: https://www.dilworthonline.org/land-use a ton of rezoning approvals. 720 E. Morehead is a huge one. 450 apartments across from the retirement apartments being built, with 15000 ft of retail.

Uptown is really starting to feel lively again. on a separate note, regarding the Alley, I believe the whole site is still Latta Arcade, and the Alley is just a name for the second floor food hall.

So Tyber Creek, Sandwich Max, and Uptown Cab?
