  3. so after speaking to my wife's cousin...current tenants in Hearst are moving out slowly, so the things Truist is wanting to get done are moving slowly. He said floor 34 is opening Monday which will be open concept with what sounds like a We Works inspired floor plan. He did not have any info on any new tower plans for Truist, but that is not his area of expertise. They are currently using the building around lake point owned by BB&T right now as well, but most everything will be moving to Hearst by April. He gets to camp out on floor 44 for the time being, so at least he has a nice view. Since he will be commuting from ATL for the next month or so, we will be seeing him more often...so hopefully Ill get some info that would not be readily available.
  4. Yes a good logo...maybe a giant T would be welcoming...we could call it the Mr T building...i like that...I think it would add a nice bling to the city
  5. Wife's cousin is a VP at Sun Trust...lucky for us were having dinner tonight...so ill see what news I can dig up from him.
  6. Latest email from the city has bridge work resuming. Installing underdecking and DTI check through 12/15. I also spoke to a worker this morning after he complained that I was parked in front of my house - i know im not supposed to be ....but he said they will start laying track on the central side of Hawthorne Bridge starting in the beginning of January...ill be snapping pics, dont worry!
  7. such a sharp looking tower...wish they couldve pushed it to 30-35 stories...but a great addition to the Raleigh skyline...cant wait to see the finished product on the Charlotte tower
  8. so this will break a new record for sale of a tower in CLT is what im reading...any speculation on the price tag?
  9. you think? I would assume if there is a new stadium, that the old one would remain...are you hearing anything specific?
  10. WOW! Thats exciting...so the next major announcement should be where the panthers will build a new stadium...cause I doubt they will share a field.
  11. not 100% sure, but this building may have a few more windows...
  12. What if Daniel Levine is actually Dandy Chiggens on this forum...
  13. What about Gender Neutral Sheds? I know it doesnt have the same ring to it...but it is 2019 and evidently everyone needs their own shed/parking hut
  14. Werent there plans for like a 30 story condo or apartment building here about 10 years back? I recall there may be a UP forum on it, but not sure
  15. Its amazing that they broke ground on this thing yesterday and today there is a tower crane, a pit, and some pillars...not to mention the most pictures of any tower on UP
  16. so they have done the bolt tightening on the new girders...my thought is that they may be waiting until the track installation on the 7th street side of the bridge gets closer? not sure...they have welded the tracks on the central side of the bridge and they are currently sitting in the street. Im going to email the city and see what they say
  17. Just got the weekly email from the city on the Gold Line construction. They are going to begin welding for the tracks on the central side of the bridge starting 11/19 to 11/21. And speaking of the bridge: 1. Hawthorne Lane Bridge WARNING – The bridge is out. The deck has not been replaced. See schedule of upcoming work below: No Work Scheduled at this time. The last time I saw that, they had installed the wrong girders .
  18. really really really not looking forward to having this in front of the house...but hooray progress!
  19. Agree Charlotte does have character, but Charlotte, like Raleigh, and other major metropolitan areas in the south are fairly "new" cities. Take a city like New Orleans (not biased i promise), or Savannah, GA, those are cities with real character - most of that character that was in CLT or RDU has been demolished...give it like 30 years and we can discuss the character this city has and is growing. its not gonna happen over night!
  20. im glad we are on the same page...agree...hoping to go with the wife and kiddo this weekend
  21. I wouldnt trust that parking garage at all...you put a ferris wheel on that and itll collapse...assuming your talking about THAT parking garage
