  1. Couple of cool pics of floor supports being lifted yesterday...not sure why they’re turned wrong
  2. Will the hotel have a tower crane as well or could it share with the Ellis? From some of the previous pics...it looks like the elevator core is already vertical.
  3. Im about 1.5 miles from my work uptown...use to bike to work through the french quarter in Nawlins...moved up here and remembered there are hills...point of that story is I should bike to work, but I dont
  4. this project looks vertical to me...especially from the College St view point
  5. Here is the latest from the city (and by latest it was from Feb 23rd) 1. Hawthorne Lane Bridge · WARNING – The bridge is out. The deck has not been replaced. See schedule of upcoming work below: o February § Backfill at End Bents. § Stay In Place Forms Installation. o March § Deck Rebar Installation. § Pour Deck. § Pour Parapet Walls.
  6. This is wildly underwhelming. Based on what I hear about the new mayor and pro build city council, they will by pass this quickly. I do think a luxury hotel like a grand bohemian is needed, but even the one in Charlotte is 15 stories, which in my opinion is underwhelming as well, especially when the inter continental being built will be 35 stories
  7. is the tower already announced the office or residential? Any one have any knowledge about the height of the second tower?
  8. Any ideas on whats going to happen to Bistro? If they close, I'm going to be extremely POd. No where else in the city makes a Blood Orange Manhattan like they do.
  9. it could be turkey...sign does say your health alternative (i think).
  10. I just hope they keep the old depot buildings in the back...would be a shame to tear those down...
  11. Damn It! you beat me to it! I literally took the same pic this morning from that exact spot.
  12. Bridge pic from yesterday...they’ve been working night and day based on the noise I hear
  13. Whats going behind the Lowe's Tower? I thought it was spanning that whole block...
  14. Had dinner with Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker a few weeks ago at Optimist Hall - and by had dinner I mean, they sat at the table next to us, we shared a fire column and Andy brought us a high chair for our son and their kids. Were basically friends now. But they are investors in Tiffs Treats and I believe Brooklyn grew up in Matthews area.
  15. I haven't snapped a pic of it, but in regards to the forgotten side of the Hawthorne Lane Bridge..... The had laid down some concrete at the intersection of Hawthorne and Sunnyside, put in some molds and rebar - all of this after compacting a ton of gravel. After coming home from a ski trip out west, I noticed they had dug up the concrete and piled it up. They poured the concrete the night before we got a days worth of rain, which I am sure had an effect on the curing, but I doubt they are going to have this intersection opened back up by this Friday as they had originally mentioned. They also hit a gas line yesterday, but that's been fixed. They've installed some of the caternary poles as well. Will try to snap some pics today/this week - but no promises
  16. my friend is in construction and says 121 Fayetteville St is going to be built (Balfour Beaty - or however you spell it). and the Warehouse district tower is basically a done deal too...but we all know how quickly things can change. Great news regardless of what comes to fruition for Raleigh skyline...it is in a desperate need of a signature tower (or 4)
  17. This is great news...im glad its finally getting more traction. Now whats the deal with 7th St/Caswell corner? Has anyone heard any more info?
  18. This is a chance for Raleigh to get, not one, but two signature towers that would change the skyline dramatically...my guess is it will get scaled down significantly, but I agree with Dan RNC.
  19. Did Spiritof76 hang that web cam??? (I think thats the right poster of all the angled pics)
  20. Could the issue with the Levine disaster area be the pilings and not the deck itself (given the fact that the real issue is Levine himself), but they look woefully skinny for any type of apartment to be built. I recall him saying they were going to demo the existing pilings, but not 100% sure.
  21. Meanwhile on the other side...here is Sunnyside and Hawthorne intersection looking towards central
  22. any one know the reason for Pint Central closing? while its not the best place in the world, it was always easy to get a drink and watch basketball. It looks like they are doing some work on the interior. But I havent seen any press about it.
  23. great pics Gman....are you by chance gonna be able to do Hawthorne Bridge?
  24. Awesome Pics KJ...any word on when the Walter is starting construction? I would assume it will begin after AAP tower is completed, but some sites already list it as under construction.
