The ground elevation at Unity Park is so low and flat that I hope it can become visually interesting. Falls Park has far greater natural advantages of slope and water features. Obviously it can be done but it requires effort to accomplish.

I like what I’ve seen for County Square. It’s the perfect compliment to an expanded downtown corridor. Hopefully the elected officials don’t muck it up.

I don’t disagree. Great reply. And again I was not as much advocating against height but merely pointing out that cities can still be wonderful without. All in all I think everyone wants a balance and not have Greenville lose the charm of the low density downtown and the original structures. Greenville should be it’s own unique brand and not aspire to be a clone of another city.

While I have no aversion to tall buildings, I must say there is a distinct charm and appeal to DC having a citywide height limit.

What is the developer proposed that is “wrong”? This appears to be a balanced and quality project. Greenville cannot cap building height indefinitely.

In my humble opinion, canceling this project would be an epic mistake. This is a landmark project with a world renowned architect and from my (limited) perspective it appears to be very prudently structured financially.
