  1. I also would hate to see chains dominate. Downtown should not be mini Woodruff. And sticks and bricks retail is struggling throughout America as online shopping escalates.....nothing unique about that issue to Greenville.
  2. What is the plan for the Larkins space and the other retail spaces along Main?
  3. It would just be nice to see the current City Hall building have an exterior renovation.....regardless of the occupant.
  4. Unlike the Army-Navy building, this renovation looks really interesting.

Underwhelming face lift for a high visibility corner.
  6. At the risk of burning in hell it’s shaping up to be a very unappealing structure

Prime corner....I hope it is something interesting.

By comparison, I think YeeHaw is just a close to residential properties. Strict limits on hours and noise are definitely appropriate in any densely populated area.

Say it ain't so regarding New Realm!
  10. I really do hate to be negative, but does everyone else dislike the checkerboard exterior?

  12. After going to Carolina Ale House on Sunday to catch an out of market football game, I hope they also do a full interior revamp with the building renovations. I was surprised how rough that place is looking since I was last there.
  13. I’m not a big fan of the exterior of this project. Those large horizontal expanses need more variety.

Does anyone know if the music venue that was to be built behind the Cigar Warehouse is alive or dead.....or paused for Covid?

This morning it appeared surveyors were setting up on the parcel at the corner of Rhett and Wardlaw across from the McLaren. Is there redevelopment of that site pending?
  16. The trees were removed on the Commons side of the River but remain on the opposite side. Is that temporary or permanent?
  17. Agreed. That rendering is far less boxy and monolithic.

Yes it’s a shame as some side streets and alleys look like Bangladesh with poles and wires everywhere. But obviously no easy solution. However in areas with substantial redevelopment I would have expected lines were buried in the process.

I’m wondering if anyone has insight into a generic question. As I walked around the West End this evening the thing I noticed that is an eyesore and common to older downtown areas are power lines. Even in stretches of new development along Rhett there was no effort or requirement to bury lines. Is it simply not financially feasible? I’m curious.
  20. The more interesting element is what will become of that downtown space?
  21. At the risk of sounding cynical, was this first bridge placed directly adjacent an existing roadway bridge with existing sidewalks?

Is this for the current business On The Roxx, or is something new taking it's place?
