  1. American is cutting service to these airports: Del Rio, Texas; Dubuque, Iowa; Florence, South Carolina; Greenville, North Carolina; Huntington, West Virginia; Joplin, Missouri; Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, Michigan; Lake Charles, Louisiana; New Haven, Connecticut; New Windsor, New York; Roswell, New Mexico; Sioux City, Iowa; Springfield, Illinois; Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
  2. The talent of the artist doing the mural is exceptional....but as many have commented the building actually needed an architectural makeover. While the quality of the mural may be good, it is still ultimately lipstick on a pig. And also agreed on the Landmark building.
  3. I think it is safe to assume that any large scale project with a 10 year build projection will have adjustments to market forces over such a timeline.
  4. Haha....perhaps true. I would have preferred an effort to "re-skin" the building with some structural elements.
  5. I’m just not a fan of murals in general. I’ll keep an open mind but I prefer true architecture.

    The West End

Thank you....I hope they are able to maintain their presence in Greenville.

This is behind a paywall....are you able to summarize?

    The West End

Has anyone heard if Husk plans to reopen?
  9. Does anyone know the projected completion date of the hotel?

  11. The ground elevation at Unity Park is so low and flat that I hope it can become visually interesting. Falls Park has far greater natural advantages of slope and water features. Obviously it can be done but it requires effort to accomplish.
  12. I like what I’ve seen for County Square. It’s the perfect compliment to an expanded downtown corridor. Hopefully the elected officials don’t muck it up.
  13. I don’t disagree. Great reply. And again I was not as much advocating against height but merely pointing out that cities can still be wonderful without. All in all I think everyone wants a balance and not have Greenville lose the charm of the low density downtown and the original structures. Greenville should be it’s own unique brand and not aspire to be a clone of another city.
  14. While I have no aversion to tall buildings, I must say there is a distinct charm and appeal to DC having a citywide height limit.
  15. That’s unfortunate. It sounds like the issues extend beyond the Greenville location.
  16. What is the developer proposed that is “wrong”? This appears to be a balanced and quality project. Greenville cannot cap building height indefinitely.
  17. Does anyone know what restaurant is replacing Encore in the West End?
  18. In my humble opinion, canceling this project would be an epic mistake. This is a landmark project with a world renowned architect and from my (limited) perspective it appears to be very prudently structured financially.
