  1. well. I can deal with that. As long as there's something that makes the tallest building in that area and shows up in skyline photos then I will be ok with it. This block will be very tight and well developed I see with a variety of uses.
  2. Yes! I want that corporate office to be like 40 stories. lol
  3. https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/southpark-site-to-include-hotel-with-upscale-flag-new-to-charlotte/901074461
  4. Can somebody tell me where is the parking going to go for these hotels or are they going to have to park in the garage above WholeFoods? Because I dont see any underground nor above ground garage lol
  5. Wow. Its getting real. The restaurants, bars, and malls will be crazy packed that week. I can only imagine the Epicenter lol. How much are the tickets for the celebrity game? And yeah I'm sure uptown will be crazy. I want to see more food trucks too as I'm sure they will do great! See! if that lot in front of Spectrum was a beautiful park like I wanted, that would have been great for this weekend,
  6. https://www.charlottesgotalot.com/2019nbaallstar This is a really cool article about All Star Weekend. This makes me excited! 1,800 worldwide media members, 23 million television viewers and over 1.2 Billion social media expressions from previous games. Hopefully this years one will deliver those numbers, and hopefully some of that buzz will have to do with the city alone. And it says most rooms have been secured (thousands). Mostly uptown I'm sure.
  7. Yeah. I believe with all the high profile celebrities that will be attending and all the events hosted around town, this may be bigger. Surprisingly the article said that the last All Star game in New Orleans only brought in around 45 million. That seems kind of low for NOLA. But hey if Charlotte is going to do over double that. Its still good.
  8. https://www.wsoctv.com/news/local/next-month-s-nba-all-star-game-projected-to-bring-100-million-to-charlotte/898102044 I'm sure that after the all Star game next month, which is expected to bring in over 100 million dollars over that weekend will spark interest in people who may want to live here, or the success of the events, parties, and game will spark more interest for people to visit. Thankfully many more hotel rooms have been added since the initial announcement.
  9. Call me crazy, but wouldn't this site have been great for the 1000 room hotel seeing as though it would be directly across from the convention center and not have to pass NASCAR. or maybe they can add it behingd the future duke building.
  10. yeah. its like they put a few window plants at the edge and left it alone. lol
  11. Listen.......lmao I dont know what they were thinking but I can barely see anything other than blue on that building. But if this was added onto that parking garage on Ascent. It would look really nice.
  12. really surprised that people don't comment on Charleston threads as much, especially with all the developments going on.
  13. Yes the orange is gorgeous. Developers need to know what people think because those other small apartments facing the lightrail, the brown brick, and pink exterior one that was just finished last year look terrible and alreayd outdated.
  14. These apartment are by far one of the most beautiful all around Charlotte. No sight of brown brick anywhere. Very refreshing. Even the landscape is gorgeous.
  15. agreed. Maybe if the Duke Energy building was just demoed, lol then that would be sooo much room for another huge development just like the Observer site, but I dont count on that to happen anytime soon. moving BOA stadium seems like such an Atlanta thing you know? lol but I wouldn't be mad if they did rebuild. Maybe Charlotte could then host the Superbowl. A dome would look so good on that shape of an arena. but modernized.
  16. It would be so nice if Wendy's could be relocated somewhere else and replaced with a beautiful tower. An office tower would fit perfectly there with some retail. It would make midtown a bit more dense, and have more than just shops and stores. Or a sleek hotel would work there. Like possibly a combo of them bother. Either way, can't wait to see higher rises (lol) in midtown.
  17. I think no city right now whose developments are making their city as dense as Charlotte right now, (excluding NY, Chicago). I think there is a good base now to spread further around the loop and diffidently get something going on the north end. And even Camp North End because South End is creating this really nice flow from Uptown with a smaller skyline.
  18. what dome?? And I would think there would need to be even more retail and something else to attract a thousand room hotel on that corner. I think there needs to be some renovation and ground floor retail added to the older Duke energy building at 400 S church street. But I kind of like that idea.
  19. is that the same one as the one for the convention center...woah!! This side of town would have a coulpe thousand rooms along the stonewall side lol
  20. yeah. A hotel would work well right they to accommodate people traveling to work or visiting one of the many new office towers rising in that area, and it it would be a great place for people going to Panthers games, so they could walk and have less cars and traffic. Maybe a really large hotel like 400 rooms. Large towers in this area means great view to Panthers games lol. They could just look right in.
  21. OK I guess i didnt look at it in a while, but in person it seems like less space. Maybe once they clear off all the work trucks and equipment it will look larger. And I was jus thinking about how much space residential projects take but then again there is Museum tower, lol very narrow.
