  1. I may be completely misremembering the master plan but wasnt the original intent to convert most of 23/5 into taxiway?
  2. My assumption is that they were told prior that there would be a 365 day stay so there isnt really a rush to propose something else. Could be completely wrong but I have yet to see a proposed new build submitted the same month as demolition application for either residential or commercial.
  3. Noticed on the March HDC docket that 1501 Mint is up for demo. Proposal is full demolition of the 3 buildings on the parcel which includes the renovated max & lolas/1501 space. Any clue whats is being proposed here? https://charlottenc.gov/planning/HistoricDistricts/Documents/HDC_Cases_2022_2022-00122.pdf
  4. The 717s feel roomier than their older 752s in whatever configuration they run with no comfort+ (at least I dont think they have comfort+).
  5. I have nothing productive to add other than saying this picture makes me very nostalgic to the early 2010s, 1-2 years after college when my body could still handle going out to the epicenter after work on Thursdays until 11 at night
  6. Beef n Bottle, much like Open Kitchen, always comes to mind when people mention older Charlotte restaurants. One of my good friends fathers is a long time Statesville resident and always has stories of coming into the city to eat at both places in the 60s and onward.
  7. That entire intersection at East & South is going to be even more of a nightmare than it already is
  8. Blue Blaze is pretty busy every time I wander over there. I am happy they are still chugging along after nothing happened with Savona for years.
  9. I suspect we work for the same employer and my hesitation in returning is driven by the requirement of wearing masks if you're out on the floor. Even my ED stated he wouldn't be in if he didn't have an office. Looking forward to returning on a somewhat consistent basis but I have no desire to sit for 9 hours wearing a mask when I can work in the comfort of my home. That said, if a large majority had returned on the specified date, I presume we would have seen a couple positives within groups shut down the back to office experience once again so maybe the slow roll is the way to go.
  10. Brian Znotins stated on a call back in September that they were going to move a large amount of their Asia load through Seattle citing increased competition from Asian competitors at LAX. This was echoed by our AA rep the following month. Who knows if it was a pie in the sky perfect world thing or what happens with Parker leaving but them starting SEA>BLR in January makes it seem that there is a bit of truth to it. Edit: SEA>BLR appears DOA so this was probably all hoopla. Carry on.
  11. JAL No way we get any East Asia routes. It's just not going to happen with DAL and the news about turning SEATAC into their Asia gateway
  12. Was leaked today that it is Boom (https://twitter.com/jetcitystar/status/1468673245515698182) which seems like a pipe dream (the company not the operation at PTI).
  13. January 18th for all vaccinated individuals is what I have heard. Should be 3-4 days in the office a week.
  14. I am with you as well. Dislike going to the physical brewery but Sycamore has started making much better beer as of the last 2-3 years. I wouldn't say its the best in the area but it is a consistent and good option when grabbing a 4 pack
  15. Not that 1000 people isn't a lot but it seems small for Honeywell. I assume HQ is a skeleton crew of sorts and a majority of their workers are located at their subsidiary HQs?
  16. As noted in the article, its really refis that are stalling. For the most part, it seems that Better provides a white label product to third parties who don't have in house mortgage services and a good majority of that is marketed to homeowners who may want to refi. At this point it feels that anybody who wanted to refi in the last 2 years already has.
  17. Non-traditional probably wasn't the right term to use as it seems most MBA programs these days are not full time! I didn't realize both locations were part time either.
  18. Charlotte is only a non traditional program as well no?
  19. Trolley related but based on the repair they have made to the grade crossing at Grandin I would say the trolley is officially DOA (not that it wasn't before). Looks like they have added asphalt all the way up to the rail
  20. Everyone has already moved or has too small of an office presence to warrant anchoring a tower (PwC - 2 Floors in Hearst/Truist. EY - 2 Floors in BOACC + Railyard tech center. Deloitte - New tower. KPMG - Just moved to BOAT?. GT - Just moved to lending tree building, DHG - South Park). This coupled with all of them wanting to shrink their real estate footprint makes me think we will not see another one of their names on a tower anytime soon.
  21. Not to drag this off topic but I thought everyone with Cardinal was uptown in the Nascar building? Is this a field office?
  22. At the expense of creating longer lines at my favorite coffee spot, be sure to check out CupLux on freedom as well. Similar concept (drive through coffee) , local and delicious.
  23. Don't think those 3 are still there within 5 years. If I am any of their ADs I would be pretty disappointed in what the AAC has become. I think the AAC may have made a misstep here and is going down the path of CUSA choosing media markets vs. winning schools (at any sport, not just football). Will be interesting to see how it shakes out in the end but I don't see a ton of interest in whats left at least from a football perspective.
  24. Agree with the above. I would probably opt not to purchase new PSLs if it was moved outside the city. I understand wanting to control all aspects of the gameday experience (parking, pre game entertainment, post game entertainment, etc) but our current gameday environment is awesome and I don't think some mixed use development plopped down in rock hill could even get close. Think moving it would burn a lot of bridges/turn a lot of people off and I hope Tepper is smarter than that.
  25. Boulder service is still just the Flatiron Flyer which is great but just express bus service
