  1. ding ding ding. This is the biggest question mark. Don't think Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday (afternoon) attendance is an issue due to the social aspect. Its the late summer Monday - Wednesday games that drag on until 10-10:30pm that are the concern and you still need to be able to have decent attendance to make this a reasonable investment. I don't think they have a problem doing decent attendance for a mid afternoon weekday game (who doesn't want to play hooky from work and spend a nice spring afternoon watching baseball) but those are few and far between.
  2. What is up with retail in the DFA building on the Camden side. Its always weird to walk by the railyard teeming with people on a Saturday afternoon and then seeing the empty spaces at the dimensional building.
  3. Its there, the font is just white so impossible to see
  4. Finally! Been waiting for a long time for someone to take a stab at bringing retail/dining to those buildings. I agree with the thought of that stretch being a ripe for an entertainment strip.
  5. Its not even that I hate it, I just always end up reserving a desk that is taken by a team that is in the office full time but doesn't reserve desks because its an unspoken rule that the area they are in is theirs. Then I end up sitting at some uncomfortable high top table with just my laptop accomplishing nothing for an hour before I just pack it up and go home lol
  6. My thought is that the banks are gonna want butts in seats at an office after this all concludes. Even with splitting days 3 in 2 at home, most people still want their own workspace. Our Charlotte office makes us "hotel" desks which is a huge pain and the main reason I stuck around the house pre-COVID.
  7. Is the new building officially complete? I think I remember the next phase is renovating the original building, wondering if they have moved on to that yet.
  8. Spot on. AA becomes loss leaders on any route that a competitor attempts to install until it no longer makes financial sense for a their competitor to continue. Don't think we will ever see another mainline sink their claws in here unless AA pulls back at some point. I however do think we will see more B6 service with the JV and the possibility of AS service (namely CLT>SEA) as they roll into Oneworld but I think it'll be on AA metal. I also unfortunately don't see any LCCs increasing service here since they aren't already here and we aren't a leisure destination.
  9. Am I right in thinking this second tower is flying at seemingly twice the speed of the first?
  10. Anyone have any info on what is going on with the space on the corner of Cedar and Morehead (750 West Morehead)? Looks like they are doing some interior work.
  11. I am all for increasing housing availability in every neighborhood in the city and love the character the quads and duplexes adds to my specific neighborhood. My only concern with this is keeping developers in check with "in town" neighborhood development so we don't end up with 3rd Ward (specifically Westbrook and Greenleaf) 2.0 which has absolutely destroyed the integrity of an older neighborhood. We have seen that even with the proper zoning, the city does not have the proper checks in place to prevent SFHs from being torn down and replaced with "Luxury" townhomes.
  12. I don't see the benefit of AA serving COS out of Charlotte since its only an hour south of Denver and I would be willing to bet a majority of their traffic is related to outdoor activities west/Northwest of the city . CO Springs is lovely but there isn't much out that way aside from Pikes and the Air Force base. Does UA serve Charlotte and Greensboro out of Denver?
  13. This is just a rumor but supposedly they did not receive the proper permitting to build 4 stories
  14. Can confirm. Friend of a friend was under contract on one to be built and they cancelled it. Wonder what happened.
  15. No in seat power! *ducks* I can agree with that though. The narrowbody lobby has brainwashed me into thinking that all RJs are bad and I need 3x3 configuration.
  16. CLT to AZS in an E175 sounds brutal as does CLT to MHH in a CRJ (Although this flight is relatively short iirc). I assume MHH is operated by PSA but who operates AZS?
  17. Didn't know where else to put this but does anyone know if 5-10+ year old residential construction permits are available online for Meck county? It seems like I can only find active or held permits.
  18. These are popping up everywhere on this side of town and they are horrendous. Wasn't enough just destroying Westbrook and Greenleaf, now the developer has to take over the whole westside
  19. I agree with your points but the problem with baseball (and the MLB specifically) is Manfred and the MLB marketing the game to a younger generation. They were set this summer to be the only professional sports league playing. Instead owners squabled about TV money, player pay and season length. In addition, the league does an incredibly poor job of marketing their young stars. Baseball is great and one of my favorite sports but Manfred and a lot of ownership groups are destroying the opportunity it has to grow. The MLB cannot continue to be a rudderless ship relying on its aging fanbase to support it. They need to do something in the coming years to draw the younger crowd and have them buy in to the sport vs. it just being a social activity because as much as nobody wants to admit it, TV rev is king.
  20. The original Phase I skybridge building is indeed condos (at least a decent amount of units are). These will all be apartments though and they have been cruising on the framing. Gotta feel for those on Summit who were spared losing their backyard skyline view in 2008 when phase 2 and 3 were scrapped but are losing it now but I guess life goes on.
  21. The fall of CVG is essentially in lockstep with the fall of Comair after the 2005 bankruptcy. I remember every Delta/Comair flight I took out of Asheville to the northeast always connected through CVG pre 2007ish. Of course this was back when AVL was only served by the mainline branded regionals. Between the 2008 NW merger and the 2007 Comair JFK hub/crew base opening supporting east coast operations , CVG was doomed.
  22. This building is something else when we have a good sunset. The entire western (northish western) side facing 77 lights up beautifully.
  23. I know you aren't saying completely eliminated but through personal experience I have been working on projects over the past year that have been dragging on for months over zoom that could have been wrapped up in 2 weeks in person. Being in person was somewhat mandatory for most positions that were traveling regularly pre-COVID . Whether its that in person touch in negotiations/sales or a client wanting the consultant they are paying big money for to be on site. Will flying to Tampa for a lunch meeting end? Yeah probably but I would say the vast majority of travel will continue once companies lift their travel suspensions.
  24. Trade street once again covered in snow with every puddle full of EIFs shavings from this project .....
