  1. Funny enough, I am not 100% sure this will happen. I have a friend that works in mechanical engineering on large commercial projects in Dallas and his job was deemed essential during their shelter in place.
  2. Seemingly every warehouse on Thrift is gutted. This area is going to look completely different in 2-3 years.
  3. Some heavy equipment on the site now. Live right across the greenway so will have a good view of construction as it goes along
  4. I have been full time WFH unless traveling (1-2x a month) for about 2 years now. I have gotten used to it but people act like I am the luckiest guy in the world and don't realize it can get pretty brutal when you don't leave the house Sunday-Thursday (mostly during the winter) and your only human contact is your wife. Now that people are getting a taste of it, they are realizing its not all its cracked up to be.
  5. Almost assuredly going to be screening
  6. Are the airport projects fully funded via PFC before beginning or do they rely on continued revenue rolling in?
  7. I think we will see some chapter 11s and restructures but I am under the assumption that the 3 legacy carriers would be propped up by government support should their situation get too dire.
  8. Just returned from London through JFK yesterday. CBP asked if I had been in Italy or China and that was it. And to confirm what everyone else has been saying, both Heathrow and JFK were a ghost town yesterday.
  9. Ingles has a lot of gas stations (at least in the asheville area) that did the whole fuel point thing. Usually got the entire family to line up one after the other to get $1.30 gas.
  10. Same neighbors who complained about the parking spot issue with some Grubb development over there https://www.change.org/p/charlotte-city-council-stop-seversville-rezoning-petition-2019-167?recruiter=1042575367&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=copylink&utm_campaign=share_petition
  11. For those who are not aware, Stewart Creek greenway is closed from Litaker/Walnut to Freedom until April. Looks like the recent rain eroded the support for some sewage lines and they collapsed into the creek.
  12. Really cruising on this one. I'm sure Honeywell is pressing for completion ASAP which helps. I know a majority of the relocations start in March, where is everyone going in the interim?
  13. White Duck is nothing spectacular. Somewhere between subpar and average.
  14. Its gotten progressively worse over the years much like all their beers. Used to love Gaelic and the black mocha stout but they have just become average these days. This in addition to every IPA they put out being bottom of the barrel leads me to rarely drinking Highland much anymore.
  15. Doing Europe in March and did the exact same thing. Cheapest Delta flight to JFK then American round trip under from there into Heathrow
  16. It's a racket but most origination or destinations at CLT are business travel while the connections are leisure. This is why its cheaper to drive to Greenville/Greensboro to originate only to have a connection in Charlotte. This on top of no competition from other legacy or low cost carriers really entrenches them with the higher prices. Charlotte business travelers are essentially a captive customer. No reason to race to the bottom when there aren't other options to get most places direct that aren't a hub city for another legacy (i.e. JFK, Atlanta, Chicago, etc) and a business will pay whatever it takes to get their employee somewhere fast and efficient.
  17. Going to need a light at Summit and Morehead if it ends up happening.
  18. To go off this picture, the gravel lot on the left between Accrue and Eventys Partners was being surveyed a couple days ago. They also cleared the trees between both lots last week. More than likely not related to an entertainment district but thought it was interesting. Who owns these lots?
  19. I live over here and am still taken aback by the amount of gutted warehouses on Thrift. Area is transforming quickly.
  20. It is. Walked by a flatbed with them yesterday and it was very clearly precast concrete
  21. Are all three buildings going up on South Tryon right now spec?
  22. Same thing happened with Town when they opened. IMO their beers were not good but have been slowly getting better.
  23. Nice little sunrise this morning
  24. I emailed the county about it and they claim they requested that Duke leave the trees be but that they didn't meet their regulations so they went and cut them down. Prior to that conversation even happening, the county said it has been planning new landscaping along the trail and is just looking for funding to complete it. Really bummed that Duke handled it the way they did. Not sure how 15 foot cherry trees interfere with their 50ft transmission lines.
