I flew round trip to BNA this past weekend and was shocked at how incredibly packed the airport was. My flight from LAX to BNA was 100% full and my return flight to SEA was 85-90% full. I flew out of BNA on Monday and got to the airport at 5:00 am for a 6:16 flight, there had to be about 1000 people in the main TSA line and about half that in the south line. My flight was already boarding by the time I checked my luggage and went through TSA. On the bright side, I bought my tickets the MORNING OF MY FLIGHT from SAN to BNA and it was only $350 round trip on Delta. With the continuous growth at the airport, what are the odds that we see larger aircraft flying out of BNA to West Coast cities in the future? I would think that at some point in the near future BNA will strained for gates even after the new concourse opens.

Off the top of my head, I would think New Orleans then possibly Jacksonville, Tampa and Indianapolis. The last three because I read a few years ago that there is a minimum requirement for hotel rooms required to host a Super Bowl and Nashville didn't meet those requirements at the time. It's very likely we've passed Indianapolis and possibly Jacksonville by now.

That's a beautiful stadium. It looks like a small version of Bayern Munich's stadium in Germany. They actually have the same name.

The area around the Liberty Bowl, and the Liberty down itself, is in dire need of sprucing up. But traffic on Hollywood is an absolute nightmare on game days. I can see those apartments being very frustrating to live in 8-10 Saturdays a year. Might be worthwhile to make Hollywood one way North from Southern to Central.

Thanks for the link, I had no idea of their presence up there.

I remember reading about 5 years ago that Nashville had the largest population of Kurds in the United States. I wonder how so many Iraqis wound up in Detroit?

I was watching the first Preds game on NBCSN this season and they showed a skyline shot with the Pinnacle building under construction. To make matters worse, it was a night video that lead you to believe that it was a live shot of downtown. I was surprised that they kept videos for that long. They did show some updated shots later on in the broadcast.

Here's an excellent article on yahoo about how FedEx functions at MEM during their busiest time of the year. https://www.yahoo.com/news/miracle-memphis-takes-fedex-christmas-165000561.html

The city has made a great effort upgrading the Liberty Bowl as much as they can. I know one of the more recent proposals includes demolishing and rebuilding one of the pressboxes. I really hope that the city hits it out of the park with whatever is done to the fairgrounds. If done right that area can bustle with year round activities highlighted be Tigers games in the fall. Also, with the closure of the East Memphis Racquet Club, the city/university might want to look at putting tennis courts in the fairgrounds or on the Park Ave Campus.

That would have been cool but I believe that Bass Pro did an excellent job renovating the Pyramid, and I initially thought it was silly that the city allowed Bass Pro to take over the property. There are nice plans for a major Pinch district redo between the Pyramid and St Jude's but there hasn't been any news on the project in several months. The real shame is the freeway and that monstrosity of the I-40/Riverside Dr interchange that cuts that area off from the rest of downtown. I'm excited to see the Sterick building come back to life. I graduated from the University of Memphis and love seeing the positive steps the city is making.

I came across that program about two week ago. Beautiful building and I want to make a point to see it in the next couple of years. The building is held up by the concrete exoskeleton. There is zero margin for error in that building with the concrete exoskeleton and the prefab materials that goes on the outside of the concrete. The show goes into great detail on the process for fixing errors that were made in the construction of the building. I can't remember if the show states how much the building costs but I would assume anywhere between .5 to .75 billion. The prefab covering for the concrete was made in Dubai then shipped to Miami. It's definitely a must watch program. -
I cant believe cities are building those types of interchanges in 2018.

Bridgestone Arena: further development of property

Ideally, there wouldn't be empty seats for people to move down to. That comes from putting a better product on the field. Otherwise, ushers should be checking patrons tickets as they come into the section. I haven't been to Nissan is several years but I've been to a dozen other major league sporting events and every game I've been to has ushers at each section entrance checking tickets. Better training for ushers would be cheaper than building a fence. Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe fencing off sections is against NFL Policy. -
I went to a food hall (Grand Central Market) in DTLA this past Sunday and it was packed to the brim with visitors. I was surprised it was so busy given that I walked past maybe 50 pedestrians on my 12 block walk from my hotel. There were probably about 20 restaurants with a large variety of offerings. I waited in line for 45 minutes to get an egg sandwich. I think the food hall in this development is going to be a resounding success given it's location on Broadway. Side note, there are 4 food halls opening in San Diego by the end of this year, so it will be interesting to see how they perform in different areas of town.

Kind of reminds me of Atlantic Station in Atlanta. There aren't any actual below grade roads, but there is a huge parking garage beneath the majority of the development with free parking for the first hour.

It grew on me as well. I do wish it were ~100 ft taller, like almost everyone else, but I think the building is fine.
