  1. Huntsville is getting ready to take off. They are landing new companies left and right. And if this Space Force thing comes to fruition that's more high paying jobs in that area. I wouldn't be shocked if it's the largest metro in Alabama in the next 20-30 years.
  2. Whew, that is a lot of money in incentives. I don't recall ever seeing a hotel with an incentive package that large. Hopefully it works out for the city.
  3. Whew, 1.3 million square feet of retail space is A LOT, especially in this economy. I know that interchange is sorely needed to alleviate congestion on 31. It will also open up the area East of I-65 to tons of residential development. I'm very curious to see what Spring Hill/Southern Williamson County looks like in the next 10-15 years.
  4. I'm not too familiar with this airport. Is the u/c tower the first control tower for the airport or was there one that was damaged in the tornado?
  5. What's the closest Target to downtown? I'm very surprised that there isn't one there or in the Gulch by now. Here in San Diego there are Targets everywhere that range in size from a Dollar General to a Wal Mart. There's two in my neighborhood alone about 5 minutes from each other.

    Downtown Mobile

Downtown Mobile is very underrated. They have a decent stock of older buildings and some great architecture. While I don't see any new high rises in the near future, it'd be nice to see some mid rises built downtown to add some density.
  7. That's a great idea. I can see that being successful over at Opryland.
  8. Nashville Soccer Club will build their training complex in Century Farms in Antioch. https://www.nashvillesc.com/post/2020/09/23/nashville-soccer-club-announces-training-complex-location-south-nashville
  9. Yeah, the stadium definitely needs to be downtown, or just outside. The suburban ballpark has worked out in Atlanta, much to my chagrin, but that will not work here.
  10. Tulsa has a great skyline for a city of it's size. I like it better than OKC's. Tulsa had the tallest 4 or 5 buildings in Oklahoma until the Devon Energy Tower was built. I believe that's still the only building in OKC that's top 5 tallest in the state.
  11. I personally would rather the Hustle stay in Mississippi or move to Nashville. I think it'll be great for both cities if the Preds minor league team played in Memphis and the Gizz minor league team played in Nashville. It would be a great opportunity to market the teams within the state and give people the opportunity to get to know some of the young players on each team.
  12. Thanks, I graduated from UofM almost 10 years ago so I knew most of that. My thing is if they're going to build a special events center they could just renovate to coliseum instead and use it for that purpose. I did not know that it once hosted hockey and I've wanted UofM to have a hockey team for a few years but that's not a possibility right now with schools cutting sports left and right.
  13. This looks amazing and I hope it gets built. I wonder why they're planning on keeping the Mid South Coliseum if they're building an indoor sportsplex? They should transfer the building to the University of Memphis if they're just going to add tarps to it. I'm sure the university can find something innovative to do with it. Also, what is going to happen with parking and tailgating for football games at LBMS? That being said, this is a wonderful development. If they ever modernize LBMS in conjunction with this development the city and university will have something to be incredibly proud of.
  14. That brings back memories. I spent many weekends canoeing through there while I was in college.
  15. I agree, but unfortunately for me I almost watch sports exclusively so it's just easier for me to pay for ATT U-VERSE. And since, I mostly work nights and weekends I have to record almost every game which is easy to do through their app. My hope is that the rise of all these streaming services drives down the cost of cable and satellite subscriptions.
  16. That's probably what I'm remembering. I lived in Chattanooga in 08/09 and remember hearing it had the fastest internet speeds in the country.
  17. I may be mistaken, but isn't Chattanooga the first city in the country to have city wide fiber optic internet?
  18. Oh goodness, "Howdy Motel?" I think that may be leaning a little too much in to the country/honky tonk motif. Sounds like something you'd see in Gulf Shores in the 70's.
  19. Can't wait for this to go up. It will be one of the nicest collegiate tennis facilities in the nation when completed.
  20. That's exactly what's going to happen if they get caught. Hopefully they wont have spent all the money.
