  1. Everybody's hurting for help right now, my local Teeter closed it's deli & bakery at 4 in the afternoon because of staffing issues. I have also heard that HT might start closing it's dept & stores earlier sometime within the next couple of weeks
  2. The med school campus is about a whole lot more than the actual school. Keep in mind that Wake's School of Professional Studies which will be a standalone academic division of the university & be home to the MBA program along with other programs yet to be announced. I also think Atrium/Wake are thinking of all the spinoff activity that the Morehead site could produce along with the visibility from 277
  3. Charlotte has a great business /MBA program & will still be the largest, most accessible & cost a whole lot less than Kenan/Flagler. But their is little doubt that their MBA graduates are in high demand by companies all across the nation.
  4. Seems like UNC / WFU are making sure they tap into Charlotte's corporate wealth, Wake is already establishing a entire grad level division here, along with a med school. Wouldn't surprise me to see the Novant/UNC deal morph into a full school & both eventually establishing Law programs here
  5. I would think the 11 practice fields open to the public & the ability to host tournaments etc provides more activity than a private practice facility. Charlotte FC could put it's facility on the current practice fields at BOA with a stadium that could double as a outdoor concert facility
  6. Surprised nobody has pick up on the crest being a updated version of Charlotte's bicentennial coin, which is a cool nod to the past. Love the secondary logo
  7. 2 Timothy chapter 3 verses 1-5 & Daniel chapter 2 verses 44 & 45
  8. But those counties collectively take potential Mecklenburg county residents.
  9. If the numbers I have heard thrown around are accurate in terms of potential season ticket holders & corporate sponsers then a Tepper led team would be top 10 revenue wise in MLS
  10. From a potential to grow research in Charlotte & the current poltical climate on the state level makes this is a better deal , Chapel Hill was always going to get the overwhelming majority of funding & you don't have to deal with state of NC .
  11. The more I think about it, this partnership might be a better fit than the UNC /Atrium deal . Combining both strengths could help Wake attract more research funding & Charlotte likely gets a decent chunk of it.
  12. He is technically correct, their will still only be one Wake Forest school of medicine but now students will have the choice of Charlotte or Winston
  13. As long as the state is unwilling to fund a 4 year school then the only viable option is for private entities to build one. That's what's happening, Atrium clearly feels that partnering with a established medical school is better than funding a 100% independent one.
  14. The DOLRT was DOA since the NCGA got involved. Remember this project is on a extremely tight deadline schedule just to receive state funding let alone federal. Duke is getting most of the flack but NS could ultimately kill this project either way
  15. The Panthers pay taxes on the buildings worth but not on the land. To me this is win for Tepper since he likely has alot of equity built up & this gives him another bargaining chip.
  16. IMO that's most likely to happen, Southend has a ton interest from developers, retail tenants etc. If done right it could be a major regional attraction
  17. u can't turn the ball over like we did &win. the only issue I have with Cam today were his last 2 throws, they still had timeouts left to try a qb run for the first. Turner is running the same offense Chud&Shula ran, he just put more emphasis on the short to medium routes ,,& the defense just needs to execute better period
  18. This is way overdue, they could also open earlier for pregame & use the current practice fields for tailgating also
  19. How big is the parking deck? &the top of it would be a cool place to put some type of party deck pre game
  20. The Detroit bid was hurt by the last minute nature of choosing Ford field but MLS is not 100% against the idea. Either way Tepper has time to design BoA,select another site & bring on more investors if he eants to
  21. Plus the eventual move of the team offices, traing facilities etc will open more room to add fan based ammenties including the current practice fields that the Panthers could generate more revenue from.
  22. The stadium itself sits on 15 acres, the practice fields & what the team defines as plaza area's comes to 18 acres. So that's a ton of land to redevelop& you probably could add more amenties to the current stadium if you move all team related functions to the new practice facility
  23. The issue is that any ownership group would not only pony up 2.5 to 3 billion to buy the team but also come up with 500 million minimum relocation fee & helping to fund a new stadium. Their aren't many markets you can recoup 4 billion plus investments period much less convince NFL owners to move a team from successful & profitable market
  24. NoDa is basically UNCC Franklin st.
  25. I think that ship sailed once CHS formally entered into a partnership with the UNC school of medicine. A stand alone medical school in Charlotte was only feasible if CHS backed the effort since they are already a teaching hospital. Either way any 4 yr school was likely to be 2 yrs on Charlotte's campus & 2 yrs on CMC's main campus either way& that's the route most likely now.
