What about the 40 story Amazon building?
-
I’m positive it’s a small number but I ride them plenty when I would otherwise drive. I live in hope gardens and take them to dinner and anytime I go hit local bars. I’ve got a lawyer buddy that takes one home from his office occasionally as well.

I’m pretty sure that bonus height is almost always granted. I am personally sick and tired of height restrictions close to the core. Small town thinking to have height restrictions in sobro and the gulch -

I’ve been told that the article is wrong. They are definitely not downsizing. Also they are not doing great as a company which doesn’t make sense. -
Sitar’s lunch buffet makes me salivate, but my Indian restaurant buddies warn of the high levels of bad oil they use.

50-60 thousand seat stadium?!?! Are you kidding? 40 is right about where it should be. They average probably around the low 30’s, and the national trend is smaller for stadiums.

I completely agree. I live in Hope Gardens and I run through this area six days a week. No one uses these ridiculous areas!!! I think the public areas like this are great to think about in planning meetings but they are mostly useless in this city. There are a couple of exceptions like the park next to the arena, but the average citizen doesn’t use these plazas.

I have heard from my convenience store owner buddies that WaWa is on its way to town. I’ll see if they know much else.

The angle that most excites me regarding this building will be from across the river. It’ll look great when I’m at a titans game on the east end- 1,920 replies

I read somewhere that Amazon will occupy the tallest building on the development. 1m sf is a big building? Anyone think that building might grow?

I run through the area almost daily. I ran by this morning and the fencing seemed to be intact as it recently has been.- 1,151 replies

I really liked those small storefronts in Church! They had some really cool brickwork on the backsides especially.

Thanks space. I was there almost open to close without paying myself the last six months just to maybe break even. I knew it was a gamble and that’s how business goes sometimes. I wouldn’t have gambled if I didn’t already have a good base of other locations. Honestly I hope the closing helped Potbelly because I know the first owner wasn’t doing great either. -

I was the owner of that location. While I agree that there was a span of about 9 months where we had a terrible crew in there we tried extremely hard to make that store work in that location. We had everything working against us. Every time we would hire someone of any quality that would get cherry picked by biscuit love or bar Louie. We had good loyal customers but having a average ticket of 8 bux and crazy high rent killed us. I have six other locations in Middle Tennessee and they are all high volume and operate extremely well. That area and landlord are not friendly to value driven businesses. -

I’m a tad confused. The most recent article says the Publix is going to be at the corner of Charlotte and 11th (which I prefer). However I thought someone was saying it was on Charlotte next to the train tracks. Anybody know for sure? -

I was the owner of that store. I tried like hell to keep it going but the rental rates doesn’t bode well for a store front that has an average ticket of 7 bux (even though they wanted me for that reason). -

I honestly think he could maximize his profits if he put some real money into it to make it more of a home, and then sell it as a urban mansion.
