  1. I just took the time to read through his memo. He’s definitely making assumptions about the amount of money we would have to spend to renovate the old stadium, but he states his opinion as fact. He is also attempting to paint the mayor and team as being deceitful because talking points have changed. That comes across as very political and disingenuous. This is a business deal and things evolve along the way. I am all for this deal. I think the city will benefit in so many ways that we don’t even see yet. I certainly realize that there are potential negatives to this deal, I would take his memo so much more seriously if he had more balance to his thoughts. He is and truly always has been no no no. Whenever I’m working on a business deal I look at and acknowledge all the good and bad. It’s important for him to paint as fair of a picture as possible.
  2. Apple meet orange. Does all lawyers make the same? Do all doctors make the same? This is not a government job, the amount of payroll that is allowable completely depends on gross sales for any for profit company. The wnba employees should be grateful that they even can exist due to being gifted money to pay the bills.
  3. You are correct about that Don and that makes me a sad panda. It will fill those parking lots with some interesting buildings. The build around is what I’m super intrigued with here
  4. I’m really glad that Freddie pointed out these Statistics. I do believe that it is not completely apples to apples however. I think part of what we are paying for now is the crappy deal that we signed decades ago, and the fact we are on the hook for renovating the existing stadium I’m really glad that Freddie pointed out these Statistics. 5. I’m not positive of this but I would think that Metro would not be allowed to develop that land if we kept the same stadium. I would think those lots are a provision in the lease.
  6. I would think it would have no bearing on acquiring a wnba franchise. We already have the facilities in place, we would however need an owner to get it started. Well, and the league would obviously need to invite us
  7. Jared Stillman said that he was told that the new stadium would resemble US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Stillman didn’t know anything for sure, but he is pretty well connected. Here are a couple pics for your viewing pleasure
  8. I could be very wrong but I was told that the attached building to the lady is the oldest structure downtown. I would love to know if that is true
  9. I’ve seen a tunnel in the basement of a printer’s alley building with my own eyes. It was pretty awesome to see
  10. This would actually look super cool if it was ancient ruins in Europe somewhere. I’m still blown away by this.
  11. I have the sneaking suspicion that Tony will eventually get a real crown on one of his buildings before he’s done. You know the guy wants to make statements and he’ll eventually have the extra capital to pull it off
  12. I own the Subway in Ashland city and I can tell you the other fast food joints in that town are hurting bad. I have been in that business for 18 years and now, more than ever, you have to have a ownership presence to help monitor operations. Out of 16 locations I have had very little experiences where we’ve had to close early due to staffing. It goes a long way with people when the top works as hard or harder and sets the example. I do feel bad for many restaurant operators because the rules have definitely changed. Cost of goods have skyrocketed and that greatly effects how much you have for payroll. Also, the attitudes of the younger staff have gone down the toilet. I could give dozens of real world experiences, the bottom 25% of people on my payroll are the problem. It’s little things, like people accepting a job and not even showing up for the first day. I’m truly concerned for this younger generation of workers
  13. Saw this 1-800-flowers commercial this morning. Nice downtown angels!
  14. I would bet a great deal of money that the lease would prohibit the city from wiping away all of that parking. I almost wonder if there is some type of city code that would prohibit that as well.
  15. So very true regarding the chance for real violence. I think it would be a interesting experience for sure. I’d probably go down to check out the chaos, but I’m definitely a glutton for punishment lol
  16. I would assume we want the Hotel tax $$ and big time spending around the city. I’m thinking these guests would be no worse than what we attract every weekend
  17. I understand that people like us on this board are annoyed by these newsless announcements. However from a business perspective it’s what you need to do. These guys are fishing for a deal and they are keeping the idea of MLB in Nashville on people’s minds. There are many billionaires out there to help finance this and I’m starting to believe that they will eventually piece it together.
  18. I read it this morning and it made me want to puke. The resident that said the lawsuit is not about his views of the city. That’s complete bs, would he be suing if this project was three blocks to the west? If he had done his due diligence he would know about the bonus height program and he would know that developers have been using it fair and square.
  19. I employed a handful of people that would badmouth the mission and it was clear to me that they hated them because they made clear boundaries. All those same people screwed me over by either stealing or acting inappropriate to people. I think the mission does great work for the people that want to truly better themselves. I shed no tears for the people that bite a hand like that.
