  1. It will be a bummer to lose that HG Hill, just like it was a bummer to lose the Piggly Wiggly near the Gallatin and Hart intersection. I would bet money that every single house on the lower block of Hillside Rd will sell and get redeveloped into tall sknnies. There are a couple that have already gone up but I can't remember if there was a house there or not but all the houses on the street are very small, unkempt and likely rentals. They have started clearing the smaller center blue area right off Ben Allen. I don't know what the hold up is for the big blue area as it's been in the works for at least 5 years. I remember going to a meeting about that and it was during the Preds Cup run. I bet it wouldn't look much different if you visited again soon. That main drag from the interstate to The Skyliner is filled with your usual fast food joints and that Church's Chicken is really popular, the drive-thru line is always snaking out onto Dickerson. There was an old school buffet style Pizza Hut that used to be right across from the HG Hill. It then turned into a Mexican joint but it didn't last long. It's now a Chicken and Waffles place that someone clearly is dumping a bunch of money into. We'll see how it does. I highly recommend StrikeOut Wingz if you're into wings and fried catfish, it occupies the old Prince's location that they abandoned after those kids ran a stolen car into it. Best wings and catfish in all of Nashville. And something that really surprises me is there used to be a Kroger catty-corner from the HG Hill site, how it could exist in the 2000s in that area right next to another grocery store but not now I'll never understand. If they ever complete The Skyliner that will bring a lot of new people into the area and there is a huge complex up near the Walmart that finished a year or so ago and next to Skyline Medical there looks to be a massive project called Altitude 41. They've started grading for that. It's a weird place for sure.
  2. One of the first few things that has changed in Madison for the positive in the last decade but it doesn't really do anything. That is not a thoroughfare that leads anywhere and doesn't alleviate any traffic, not that that was the intention. It will be nice for the owners of the new music venue, a feather in the cap for CM NVR and helpful for the people that go to the farmers market once a week but in the end it's mostly useless except for being aesthetically pleasing. I challenge anyone to go visit Gallatin Pk between Due West Ave and Old Hickory/StRt45 on a weekday rush hour or during a Saturday afternoon. If you think Gallatin Pk in East Nashville is ever bad, you ain't seen nothin yet. And there are no bail out routes like in East Nashville: Riverside, Ellington, Dickerson. It's Gallatin or Saunders in Madison (I'm not counting Gibson Dr because at some point they installed speed bumps every 10 yards).

  4. Riverside Village, whatever project this is called I forget This is an old mansion/farm up behind the Lowe's in Rivergate. They've demolished the house and moving a lot of dirt. Bought by AMH TN Development LLC, looks like out of Delaware, for 1.7m There is moved dirt and a sign advertising '20 luxury homes' on Eastland near Riverside Dr
  5. I don't know about that side but Riverside Golf was like 80% underwater during the '10 flood. How steep are the cliffs near DuPont? I know the cliffs down near Old Hickory Village are quite steep. Pretty awesome grid system they've got over there in OHV.
  6. Old school page separated, linear, descending forums like this one are really difficult to translate to mobile. Yet, they are the superior method for long form discussions that can take place over years/decades. Unfortunately, the world has moved to mobile forum-esque platforms like FB, Insta and Twitter (and maybe a little bit of Reddit) where they generally load a portion of the conversation and if you want more you have to continually hit the 'load more' button but you never know where you'll end up in the conversation. This makes it basically impossible to track quotes, replies, etc.
  7. I'm so pumped for Mule Day 2023. It's the cultural pinnacle of the greater Nashville area!

  10. California really is sending their best, aren't they? A manager at the high end, award winning and world renowned ........ Puckett's. And a real estate agent! "PEOPLE ARE MOVING IN DROVES TO NASHVILLE!!!!111" Only talks to people who moved to Spring Hill, Franklin and Mt Juliet. "Do you think urban sprawl could make Nashville like California?" "No, there's just so much land." Over/under years before these big brains start calling for 'The' 65 to be expanded? 5
